  • #AWKWARDMOMENT LOL! From 6:30-6:34

Anyhow, I wish this guy would STFU about the Prius.

  • i knew he wanted this car to look cool when he said "is there a game you can play when your driving?"

  • It always funny listening to the rants of right wing fascists. Why blame the Democrats for the state of America it was the bankers which need to be bailout by the govt to avoid a 1930's depression, it called capatilists welfare. The volt is right solution, yes it is expensive but the cost will drop in time. To me just avoiding having to go to petrol station is reason enough. And think what effect this would have if US wasn't depend on oil imports, probably mean wars like Iraq would be unnessary.

  • "Each Chevy Volt (has) $250,000 in state and federal dollars in incentives - $3 billion altogether...total state and federal assistance offered for the development and production of the Chevy Volt...18 government deals that included loans, rebates, grants and tax credits...GM is currently 26% owned by the federal government...According to GM CEO Dan Akerson, the average Volt owner makes $170,000 per year."

---James Hohman, assistant director of fiscal policy, Mackinac Center for Public Policy.

  • does that take gas too

  • USB connection with my iPod for music and not wireless bluetooth? Big fail GM!

  • This guy is Peter Griffin !

  • @OrryBoy LOL thats the impression I got to haha

  • The chick sounds like Deputy Trudy Wiegel from Reno 911.

  • Costco is reversing course and pulling its chargers out of the ground, explaining that customers do not use them. There are literally millions no, thousands no, hundreds no, dozens of those entering the market on a monthly basis. Won’t be long and car companies will be paying people to drive these things so they can comply with the mileage standards imposed by biggov.

  • @dkkght46 In ten years, these cars will be on par in terms of price and way faster in terms of speed than a traditional Internal combustion cars, with 1/10 the fuel cost. Not many people will be dumb enough not to own one then. they will be able to pay for their car payment and gas, for the price of just gas in a regular car. Right now you can lease a volt for $399 a month. My gas bill last month was $320. Right now I can have a volt payment and gas for $425. Free car at the expense middle east

  • @tadaa11 -In ten years most Volts will be in the junkyard where they belong with the exception of a few placed in museums and car shows. They will serve as a reminder of one of the most costly and ridiculous Liberal boondoggles ever and a prime example of why politicians shouldn't meddle in the auto industry! Someday the electric car may be superior to the gasoline one however the Volt isn't it! If it was such a great car why does the government need to bribe people to buy them?

  • @StompingRabbits The reason the government has to bribe people is because they're morons. When the economy turns around and gas is 6 bucks a gallon people will be flawking to this car because there monthly gas bill will be 3-4-5 hundred bucks. Why not have an equivalent car payment to just the price of gas, which goes eventually away. Even when your cars paid off you still have to pay for gas. 10 trillion spent on wars, whats a few billion for innovation. GM is low on the list

  • @tadaa11 - The reason the government needs to bribe people to buy it is because there is no market niche for a glorified golf cart. The only thing that's going to turn the economy around will be new leadership in DC and that's going to sound the death knell for Obozo's pet car as in no more $7,500.00 Somalian rebate. "Innovation?" WTF? The Volt is just another hybrid without one single major technological breakthrough, not one! Boondoggle! I would prefer another war to that POS!

  • @StompingRabbits Have you driven one? I've never seen a golf cart that can go 100mph or a quarter mile in 16 seconds. Innovation was in the battery technology: Price, cycle life, and size. Also its completely new three engine two clutch format. The car has a 95% approval rating from people that own one. You can irrationally, based on experience?, criticize the car all you like.

  • @tadaa11 - No, I haven't driven one nor do I ever plan on driving one! That's because you've also never seen a $45,000.00 golf cart have you? Innovative battery? You're not serious are you? There is no major technological breakthrough in that fire hazard sonny, you're gonna have to do better then that. 95% Approval rating from 5,000 ideologically unhinged moonbats stupid enough to buy one. Maybe you haven't noticed that the sales figures are abysmal to put it lightly.

  • @tadaa11 - Don't worry about my criticism, worry about the market rejection that's pretty clear now! You get 30 miles under optimum conditions before it switches to it's "backup gasoline engine" then you're good for another 300...ROFLMFAO!

WHY DO THEY CALL THE MORE CAPABLE GASOLINE DRIVE TRAIN THE "BACKUP FOR?"

    FRAUD RING A BELL?

  • @tadaa11 - Yup, I'll keep critiquing that piece of shit and you keep on defending pResident Obozo. Can I ask you a question? What is the mission statement of GM? Is it to build quality autos that people want to buy for profit or is it to build crap that's conceived by politicians in DC that nobody wants for the sheer purposes of pushing a political ideology and wasting billions from the U.S. Treasury? What is it homey? Free Markets or Communism? You blithering fucking moron!

  • @StompingRabbits Where does this hatred come from? Have you ever asked yourself that? Nice try, changing the subject. Yeah, the battery is half the size, twice the capacity, 1/4 the price, with 4 times the cycle life. A demolished car caught on fire weeks after the crash and that's a problem. You do know that ICE cars ignite every minute of everyday right after a crash. I can drive 50 miles on battery only. It cost .30 cents to drive 20 miles. Try that in your putt putt car

  • @tadaa11 - The hatred is retribution for the Bush years, what comes around goes around and it's your turn now! The battery you can't stop crowing about is being redesigned because it's obviously dangerous and a side impact test doesn't necessarily "demolish" a car. You still haven't addressed a single one of my questions have you? "Putt putt car?" What's going to produce the electricity that your POS Volt will run on? It isn't going to be one of your green energy fantasies!

    GAS!

  • @tadaa11 - Try driving your electric car down the block in sub-zero temperatures or better yet, try defrosting the windshield or running the heater without killing that marvelous battery of yours! Putt Putt My Ass!

  • @tadaa11 - How about the hatred in your "people are stupid" statement? Do you really believe that everyone not unhinged enough to buy into your political ideology of choice is stupid? You're the hater pal, you're the progressive moonbat who hates anybody who calls bullshit on your agenda aren't you?

  • @tadaa11 - So the government needs to bribe people to buy that POS because they are "morons?" And you say I have a problem with hatred? You're the fucking moron pal, you and your fucking commie buddies in the Democrat/Progressive/Maoist party!

  • @StompingRabbits People, like yourself, are irrational. Do they look at the cost of ownership, before they criticize it? Do they drive one before they call it a golf cart? Do they except anything from anyone that fits their ideology, without any rationale? I could care less who built it. All i care about is a cost benefit analysis. The car doenst work for everyone, but in my case it did.

  • @tadaa11 320 bucks a month on gas? what kind of vehicle did you have before? was it a midsize car similar to the size of the volt, or was it an SUV or something? if it was an SUV, you can cut your gas bill in half by buying a a REGULAR sized gas car....and if you already drove a regular sized gas car and still spent 320 bucks a month on gas, you must drive A LOT of miles, in which case, the battery on the volt is gonna die every day and you'll be burning more gas than electricity anyway.

  • @creamyfilling102 15mpg truck 1200 miles a month or 40 miles a day. My volt gets 50 miles when fully charged. The problem with a regular car, is that gas might be 6 bucks a gallon by the time i pay it off, so that would be like a car payment for life. Even a civic would be 240 bucks a month if gas goes to 6 bucks

  • @tadaa11 gas won't go to 6 bucks for a long time...LOL. If anything, with the way the world's economy is looking....it will likely stay the same or even less for a good while.... My bet is that we won't see 6 dollars for the next 10 years or so... And I have to agree with others here....the Volt is probably the most subsidized car in history... That is a total sham in itself. At the same time, GM played a major role in burying NiMH tech, which set the industry back for many years.

  • @paulfornasier Good luck with that.

  • @tadaa11 I guess we'll see. Remember that oil was at 10 per barrel 10 years ago....after dropping significantly for a number of years. I can't predict the future, but neither can you. I can really go either way in the short to medium term. As far as the NiMH battery statement, that is pure fact. GM played a big role in stunting the development of electric vehcles in the last 10 years. There is still major patent restriction on the use of large format NiMH batteries.

  • Awesome but I swear there are QR codes everywhere these days!

  • As a republican, i am against this. It's just not American.

  • @vgcq02 what? so are you against the tax payers giving a loan to a company (gm) who built the tanks that helped us win world war two? after all, theyre paying us back with interest!

  • I LIKE THE CAR BUT I DONT LIKE THE FRONT MIRROR

  • How could they have failed so badly! Why can't they offer 100 miles like the Leaf, THEN have gas?

  • This dude is so annoying. Hes pushing buttons b4 she even finishes explaining what they do. His fat hands all in the way.

  • I really like the going green initiative and the volt is a really exciting car, but with all the technology and electrical systems and computer involvement I'm worried we're getting too far away from what a car should essentially be.

  • Touch screens are very bad ideas for automobiles. You have to look at the screen to accurately control them instead of looking at, you know, the ROAD! I can control my car stereo right now by touch while still looking where i'm going. You think they would have thought of that.

  • The volt is a boatload of hype. In the winter batterys lose 50-60 percent of their capacity. Thats going to cut the range to 20 miles. Run the heater? Zaps it more! If you live in a large city that car will not be worth a darn in the winter.

  • This car is a step backwards,it does the same thing as a prius. But you have to plug it in. And everyone is going to get lost in the hype....Stupid people. Get a prius or a leaf.

  • @whiteknight180sx No, it is not the same as a prius. It can go on straight electric motor for period of time 25 to 50 miles. It is a step forward from the Prius, unless the prius is doing the samething with its new models.

  • I would buy this today! It's better than paying 4.15 a gallon that only lasts two weeks on a full tank, and I drive a suv- Honda cr-v.

  • he fingers at her 0:46

  • She said prndl lol

  • @TCB1468 If you ever drove a GM car with an old Hydramatic (not TURBO Hydramatic) or "Slim Jim" it was PNDLR; this was a good way to slam the shifter right into reverse, whether you wanted to or not!

  • A customer of mine bought one! he regrets it like there's no tomorrow ! What an embarrassing piece of crap ! and this is no B.S !

  • blue tooth for mp3 uses alot of power jackass f*k ur sh*itty prius f*g.... wut it has more pick up then ur prius? wow but the blue tooth... FU*kin GOOOF!

  • blue tooth for mp3 uses alot of power jackass f*k ur sh*itty prius f*g

  • why are there no solar "panels" on the roof?

  • @slacker361 pfff If they made it with everything what would make you trade it in for a 2012 one? They need to have some technology left to make you want to buy a newer model. Im sure in the future there will be solar paneled black roof that you wont even notice is solar. and a front grill the a has small turbine generators that are air powered... ie the faster you go the more wind power you generate but that would go against there areo dynamics.

  • I've been following the news around this Chevy Volt since it's announcement. It's just awesome! I want it, but it's probably gonna cost 100,000 dollars here in Brazil... maybe more. Damn friggin' Brazilian taxes...

  • This car pays for it self.. And I have not like any electric cars. This one is the best.! I spend about 300.00 a week on gas, my truck is paid for. Now I could be putting that 300 towards a car payment. I would have something to show for it. Instead of giving the oil companies 300.00 and nothing to show.

  • im surprised they dont have it for test drive in Florida yet, florida has lots of retirement and wealthy people.

  • Yes I agree they should make gloss black and stainless center panels. That would be slick. And doesn't anybody else think it would be a good idea to have speakers under the car that produce a deep engine noise when idling around a parking lot? Not only would that get the job done but it would be very cool.

  • Anyone not like the look of the all white console besides me?

  • I like the idea of this car, but there is too much junk in this thing. I'd be ok with the entire center display going away.I wouldn't want sport mode and reg mode either, sounds like a 1000 dollar problem waiting to happen. The car cost 20,000 dollars too much for me before rebates. I don't want to apply for the rebates, gm should take care of that for me. Too much messing around.

  • again....am i the only one who remembers but what ever happened to the EV-1?

  • America this car was build for you buy with american people. Well maybe some emigrants but still you should be proud of it. Now it will only work if you are going to change your god dam addiction to oil. If you want to be the riches nation one more stop spending 1 billion dollars in oil every god dam day. This is America the land of the free and the brave. But if you are to afraid may be we could change to The land of the free and the land of the pussies. So make up your mind.

    Do it for U.S

  • Here's an idea - solar panles on your house to charge the volt. If you can spend 40k on a car you can afford solar to charge it.

  • Y wud he ask for the 0-60 in a volt lmfaoo

  • I absolutely just hate the guy who's test driving the volt i don't know why he's just a huge tool

  • Chevy Volt >>>>>Nissan Leaf

  • this guy reminds me of phil jackson

  • Tell me if im picky but one thing that stands out to me that I dont like is that it can only strictly carry 4 people.

  • Get it out on the real road. I wish they kept it closer to the concept design.

  • wait so what exactly does the L position do?

  • I was just thinking a cool car like this combined with a biodiesel engine. A super hybrid car. Now that would be something.

  • @smcneal057 you better patent that idea, i dont know why it hasnt been done either. great idea

  • @17wolfman

    Thank you very much.

  • I want one but just cant afford it because i spend all my money on my POS car.

  • @MTVVH1sucks story of my life

  • This is great and all and I'm terribly happy that GM has decided to pull its head out of its ass, but who here has owned a GM product? After my last Chevy, I told myself that I would never again buy another. I felt raped as a consumer for buying such a sub par product. Just about anyone who has owned a Honda understands why their brand loyalty is so high.

  • @ericambrosecoon As a child growing up, my dad only bought GM cars; he's gone now and I drive a 1995 Maxima with 145,000 miles on it and all the power accessories still work perfectly!

  • the guy keeps talking about the prius, this is not the pruis this IS CHEVY,now please be quiet and drive

  • Chevy Volt, this is What I call this Green Motor GM

  • Gosh I know more about the Volt than this Chevy sales rep. does.

(All info inside my head came from the internet, and yes--I've already read the whole Chevy Volt manual)

  • Actually, the gas engine is just a generator that powers the electric motor. No power from the gasoline generator goes to the battery pack.

  • Those familiar with the history of GM, would know that GM had previously made electric cars back in the 90's with similar technology. However they took them back and crushed good condition electric cars without explanation. I can't leave all the blame to GM because Toyota and Ford also developed similar models, but those met the same fate. The name of the car was the EV1.

If GM had kept the EV1 (100 mile range fully electric car), where would electric cars be today?

  • Amazing how sales people dont know ANYTHING... bah they piss me off.

  • "What does the key look like" ???

    this dude don't get it..

  • lol neither of them know anything about cars, the guy drives a prius for christs sake!

  • Prius is still head and shoulders above this because of cost. It appears they will NOT be getting any 40 miles of electric on this. Just the comments about using heat, ac, and heating the seats tells me the 40 miles of electric is a stretch. I'm thinking 30 miles. They appear to be using the 40 miles benchmark just like they denote mpg which is for all intent and pupose impossible to obtain. When the price is reasonable and they work out the bugs and they stop making Pruis, then I'll consider.

  • sit on it prius!

  • i had the opportunity to get in a Volt and turn it on at least and it was incredible! You don't feel a thing. It is spacious and my boyfriend and i loved it. We loved how stylish and comfortable it is. We would love to have this car someday. Love the Volt!

THIS IS WAAAY BETTER THAN A PRIUS...

  • @abab999ab: Yes it is. With this car if you are a daily city driver. You can get by without using gas at all. 40 mile range.

  • not gonna lie, if i got a job anywhere in my area, i would never use gas again unless the one day a year vaca like 150 miles out

  • Unfortunately, as a driving enthusiast, I don't think I will ever be able to appreciate plug-ins or electrics. A 9 second 0-60 in sport mode? My fathers '91 Camry did better than that. I'm all for sustainability, but it can't be at the cost of the driving experience and the "fun" if you will. What I'd like to see is a hydrogen combustion engine that performs and sounds exactly like a gasoline engine, but runs on water (essentially). For now though, my BMW is far more rewarding to drive.

  • how annoying is the guy talking about the pryus all the time!!!

  • I drove this back in 2010 through the streets of Manhattan for several miles. Very quiet and high tech.....Plug-ins are the future before all electrics unless you drive only 15 miles to work each way....

  • @MrEnergyCzar you can drive to work 125 miles and back with a tesla on all electric. Chevy volt electric car=fail.

  • What happened to the days of just getting in the car and driving? Fuck all this bullshit, people are so brainwashed that they don't understand that it takes burning fossil fuels to create the fuckin' energy that this car will run on half the time. What a gimmick. By the way, Al Gore's so called 'carbon footprint' is probably 10 times larger that mine. Keep drinkin' that Kool-Aid!

  • The sad thing is chevy needs to make a buyer take an IQ test and a basic mechanics knowledge test before selling this car, The american people aswell as people all around the world are so fuckin stupid that this will not work. I cannot believe how stupid people have become since the legends in automotive history in the 30's-40's50's60's70's and even 80's fuck even 90's! I knew everything about cars when I had my first had my rod juiced by the next door neighbors mom followed by her daughter.

  • @JISINSANE3 yea you wish faggot

  • @xFReSHeReST ahhh, Jealous. I understand your a virgin and never had none. Hey some people have the gift others like you don't have shit.

  • @JISINSANE3 lol i dont make up bullshit to impress people on youtube.

  • @xFReSHeReST you should, it gives you a big rush (most of that is bullshit and now i have a rush)

  • i think its better than the prius..

  • VW Lupo Diesel gets 75mpg and costs 20,000 USD less brand new. Paying 41 grand shows 41,000 reasons you're a chump on your knees in front of Al Gore.

  • what a POS is techonogy is even below the prius and they want to compete with tesla lol

  • Comment removed

  • does it ψηνει και καφε;

  • no its an electric car. hybrids use gas and electricity at the same time. where you can switch this from eclectric to gas only. but i would not want to buy an all electric car anyway what if theres no where to charge and im out of battery

  • what a fucking shitty car wheres the buetiful engine noise oh it's in my 68 mustang hahahaha fucking chevy's bullshit

  • @seekanddestroy1200 Yeah that is a good question? Where is the nice futuristic sound of an electric motor?

The EV1 had a wonderful sound. AND THAT WAS IN 1995!!

  • @seekanddestroy1200 Yeah, keep driving your Failure On Research & Development.

  • pretty hardcore acceleration.

  • the guy is sooo annoying.

  • GM I want my money back!!

  • How does it do in lots of cold snow and cold everything??

  • I will buy a FORD battery card. Not a GM. Ford didn't borrow money. GM did.

  • Comment removed

  • 40,000 for a Government motor???

  • The whole time he was like, 'lady just shut up and let me drive the car'.

  • 0-60 time?

  • At 2:56 The Camera Guy Sighs Really big when she says "Let me Show you our App... really... Quickly..." lol

  • Im not sure when Gasoline will run out, but Im just not a fan of the electric cars, but In a couple yrs I'll have to get use to that because they probably wont make gasoline cars anymore.

  • the VOLT suck and far from an electric vehicle. The Volt is a simpler, smarter version of the Toyota prius. GM should have stuck with the E-V1. 15 years of production would have created a new American revolution in cars. These day the Chinese are DEMANDING that we (America) share our electric care technologies with them or they will put trade embargo on us cars. gos to show you that the future is electric not Hybrid. I personally would love an all electric car along with a gas vehicle.

  • GM is a great company. They are not making any money off the Chevrolet Volt. They want to build a clean car for customers and fans. The Volt is priced at $42,000. With Our Government giving a rebate of up to $7,500, the Volt will only be priced at $34,500. That is a Bargain for clean technologically advanced electric car.

  • @heartlessvietboy OK, its still a hybrid. it still uses gas. Furthermore, if they are such a great company, why did they wast billions on the EV-1 program just to scrap it and follow in the footsteps of Toyota? the volt will fail

  • I do not know the reasons why GM pulled the EV-1. I don't think GM followed the foot steps of Toyota. The EV-1 was a pure electric car. The Chevrolet Volt is also an electric car, however it has an on board gasoline generator that could help you go 350 miles. The EV-1only offered 100 miles. The GM Volt wont fail.

  • @heartlessvietboy GM pulled the EV-1 because big oil companies bought up all the Pattens for battery technologies. GM was also scared that electric cars would kill the parts market, because PURE electric cars don't need all the moving parts a regular combustion engine has + electric cars are cheaper to maintain and don't use any toxic fluids ( coolant, oil, transmission fluid etc) the government also helped because they gave ppl incentives to buy bigger gas gulling vehicles (hummer, F3000 etc)

  • @heartlessvietboy Now i know any vehicle that burns gasoline has to have the fumes (CO2) go somewhere, out the tail pipe right? well the volt has one of those. Furthermore, the Volt is called a PLUG-IN HYBRID, not an electric car. ELECTRIC CARS DON'T USE GAS. Think about it; 15years ago GM's PURE electric car gave you 100mph to a charge and you could have charged the vehicle @ home in a regular power outlet. Now they are telling you; you can only get 40mph per charge before you pay for gas.

  • What is the difference between a Magnetic Motor and an electric motor?

  • The Chevrolet Volt is a Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle. It is also considered an electric vehicle because it can go on battery alone. One day when we are able to build an electric car that can travel purely on the electric generator, then the Chevrolet Volt will be considered a Battery Vehicle.

  • @heartlessvietboy LOL keep fooling yourself and ignoring the truth. LOL ONE DAY WHEN. that day already past when ur beloved company destroyed a true American revolution; the EV-1. gen1 gave you 80miles per charge and gen2's were pushing 120miles per charge and this was back in 1996. few years later Toyota came out with the prius and GM decided that hybrids would sell more than electric cars and along with big oils fears of loosing there strangle hold, GM crushed the EV-1; how wrong were they?

  • @heartlessvietboy It's a serial hybrid, unlike the parallel style featured in most other hybrids sold today. So, it's an electrical vehicle with additional range beyond the original charge being enabled by an automatic, on-board generator (i.e., the small engine).

  • In reality, its not an electric vehicle. Its a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle.

  • @heartlessvietboy That's somewhat pedantic. It added a backup generator that burns gasoline for extra range, when needed. Folks like me will rarely ever need that additional range, because its primary use will be for local commuting and needed trips. It's a serial hybrid by design, but it's certainly a valid form of electric vehicle - and, I might add, a step in the right direction from a parallel hybrid design in terms of efficiency and reliance on the electric motor.

  • Do you know how long the battery will last? The 40 miles you get should last at least 5 years (25,000 miles) before showing signs of depletion. That's pure electric range alone.

  • @PatriciaCookFind1 Also remember the stone age didn't end because we ran out of stones, We (humans) got smarter. I wonder; if we wait till we run out of oil before we change our ways; how smart are we then? it just goes to prove that you can either adapt and overcome or keep thinking that oil wont run out and that far form logical or smart. think with your brain not with your mouth or words.

  • @PatriciaCookFind1 Of course sheep would say that. U keep sending me stupid videos of kids riding around on power wheels, is that how far ur brain has progressed or regressed? Check out the Tesla Roadster, Model s, and Audi's E-TRON concept that they are building to COMPETE with TESLA'S Electric vehicles, and then you can message me back with something more convincing of how an ALL electric cars is only good if "YOU LIVE AT THE GOLF COURSE"

  • I like the direction that the technology is going and this is a great looking car from what I can see. Not in the market for one now, but I am glad to see the range isn't just 40 miles as some people said. Using the gas engine as a generator is a great idea for the longer trips. Thank you for the informative video, the start of it was boring but a lot of good information was delivered.

  • They need to add solar roof and wind mill......

  • Every American that can should buy this car! Yes need to stop sending oil money to the people that want us dead!...I for one am buying this car!

  • @yankee22167 lol you go ahead. it still uses oil and it sucks compared to true American electric cars. GM had their chance to capture the world in 96 with the EV-1, but they sold out to the oil companies and the elites in the government. If you want to truly be free and buy American: buy a tesla Model s ; it should be ready in late 2011. Even Audi is Making all electric cars (Audi E-TRON), Not a copy of the prius.

  • $40,000 is a-lot. I'd rather wait ten years or so for the price to go down. Still is nice to see something new from GM that's worth a crap now... Lets hope they KEEP IT UP

  • @TheTarrMan With the government deductions the price comes to about $33,000.

  • @iDiggMGL Well, that's cool and all but for that type of money, I'd rather get an RX8.

Just like the Xbox 360, if your the first one on the block to get new technology, then be prepared to have problems.

  • @TheTarrMan If you'd rather get a sports car, I don't think you don't get the point. This car takes $1.50 to fill 40 miles in the battery pack. What does that get you in the RX8? From the forums I read from RX8 gets less than 15 miles per gallon in the city. So, factor that in Cali, one of the 6 states this car is for sale in, that's half a gallon of gas; about 7.5 miles.

Second, the xbox 360 is a horrible example. Microsoft purposefully chose to sell damaged goods and are paying for it.

  • @iDiggMGL Part one/ I'm just saying that I'm not the type of guy that sells things, ever. If I had a money to buy a car, I would drive it into the ground, ESPECIALLY IF I BOUGHT SOMETHING NEW. In ten, or so , years were they start to get problems, I like to fix things myself, because I'm poor. Now let's say it was the year 2036, and there was a 2010 Chevy Volt for sale for $1,500.

  • Part 2/ Because I, along with a lot of other people, don't really know how to fix them, a lot of stuff would be all computerized they would be a pain in the but to try to comprehend whats wrong, and how to fix them. Now don't get me wrong, Gas cars, well I could diagnose almost anything with those , but because these new type of cars are computerized, there programing is all different.

  • Part 3/ With those cars, if it chugges as your driving along there could be a half of million things that could have gone wrong and for Evey make and model, they could all be different. so you would probably have to go to a dealer for anything major to get it fixed, and those places are expensive. I do agree that the Xbox-360 thing was over-bored though....

  • @TheTarrMan Well, if you're thrifty, hybrids and EVs, alike, really aren't viable options, right now. I own a hybrid and I bought the bumper to bumper warranty for 10 years. I know many mechanics aren't familiar with hybrids, but with these cars getting cheaper and cheaper, it's really getting easy to buy a hybrid or an all electric car and warranty for the price of a gas car; for instance, a baseline 2011 RX8 is, what, $26,000 or so? For that you could buy the Nissan Leaf and baseline warranty.

  • Cool car, but the guy in the driver seat is really annoying

  • @badmonkey78 if he drives with one hand whilst on the road,he's dangerous!!!!

  • @badmonkey78 -- And he drives like an asshole. I hate one hand drivers.

  • What I think will happen is: The electric generator will use far more fuel than a normal engine, and after you waste the batteries you'll waste a lot... not to mention the batteries will eventually get "tired" (- like any other batteries) and eventually won't be able to offer more than 10 miles. This car will be made on large scale so it will be relatively cheap... so people will buy it. Then they will still need gas to run it, which people will have to buy. Gas stations will live a long time.

  • so how long does it take to charge after you drive your 40 miles??? somebody explain how this is so much better for the environment... so we trade gasoline for coal?

  • I like this car! :)

Way way better than the prius I can say and the looks are better

  • quit whining you slant eyed bastards its success im buying one after they go in full roll as youll get em cheaper and still keeping my 600hp camaro so f off anti americans we need to untite and bring this country back to the top and run asias cheap shit out of here

  • 30 grand wow thats just stupid

  • The ONLY thing i don't like about the car is the black stripe thing in the back... I don't like that part but the rest is AMAZING!! :)

  • Too bad GM lied about the Volt and its power-train.

  • @quatlen They did not lie. The problem is that this car has 2 modes- serial and parallel, and I don't think the language around hybrid vehicles evolved enough to categorize it appropriately. This is exacerbated by the fact that certain legislation/federal/state funding is based on the exact same terminology.

  • @lectrick It was a surprise to hear that the Volt would be assisted by its gas engine over 70mph and other circumstances. GM has been accounted for saying that the Volt would be a extended range EV, well because of the facts I mentioned earlier that technically disqualifies the Volt from being an EV which means that we would classify the Volt as a Hybrid. This situation isn't exactly important but a large company such as GM should not lie and don't be fooled because they did lie.

  • Just wait til ultra low power bioelectronics hit the market. At that point the solar car will finally be possible, and that will be HUGE for the automotive industry.

  • The guy driving it is ratard though. Great idea but Obama motors is gonna screw it up.

  • @frolickingcamel

GM being screwing up long before Obama, only thing Obama did wrong is not not let these loser fold and let American accept its failure and give up in the automotive industry altogether and let the Asian take over. America is falling like Rome, China owns us so bad they could makes us their pets! Not Bush, not Obama, not any douche in government can do a thing to stop our decline!

  • @frbe0101

That is the truth. I'm moving to Canada LOL

  • Does this car come with power eye lifters for night time driving? And does it come with integrated mind reading technology that shifts the gears for you? Lol theres a reason America has turned into a nation of money-hungry, over-weight, dumn, and followers that are easy to fool when u sugar coat things. This car is the future and so are other models out there. Ppl need stop getting stuck in the past.

  • this fucking fat asshole wont stop touching everything its so annoying god fucking damn it stay still fat shit!!!!!

  • This is a really cool video, thanks for the test !

I'll like to have one (opel ampera version in Europe).

  • Do you think Gm will add the Bluetooth Audio, that the guy was talking about. I'm sure the answer will be no. They still don't get it.

  • I like it, but don't like that it uses iphone. I hope they make their app work on the other smart phones like mine out there. They should support at least 2 or 3. Otherwise, it only drives people to buy a stupid iphone in order to use extra features. Something I won't do. Also some people may not like changing to at&t or dropping bars etc.. Or they might have another smart phone they like already..
