Played this at my Father's funeral. He died 15 years ago today. This is actually the epitaph on his tombstone. Every weekend of my childhood these songs would be playing at my home, so sad that they're all gone. I know my father is sitting in heaven with them all, singing and laughing until we get to meet again.
@Paultrekker1 If the clergy allow????? I think one of the great things these boys done, Liam especially was to go completely against any organisation like that. Make sure it's done!!!
Sorry to say, we lost Liam Clancy today. Such a talented musician. As they said on the NY Station, The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem have been reunited.
Wonderful. Just wonderful. And look at the sheer joy and affection on Paddy and Tom's faces as they listen to Tommy between 2.05 and 2.10. Totally authentic and just lovely.
The best man sang this at my wedding reception. he's still mo best man.the wich bit me on the neck, turned into a bat, and flew out the fookn window.

Let's not have a sniffle,
Let's have a bloody good cry,
And always remember, the longer you live
The sooner you'll bloody well die
