I have a Turbo Express. It used to work, but I recently pulled it out and found that both the sound and the video are kaput. The screen turns on, but no picture! I watched your video on how to repair, and I was wondering--I myself have never done anything like this, so could you post a new video showing how to de-sodder & re-sodder the little cannister doohickeys inside? It would be much appreciated!
they are switching to digital today or so they say. not sure if youtube changed the icon there too. little animation thing and says "goodbye analog" when you hover.
I have the GT and the US version (Turbo Express), they're brilliant examples of early 90's high technology. They even used one in 'Enemy of the State', the Will Smith movie!
In Japan there was also an ultra rare LT version, which is kinda the holy grail. It has a larger screen and folds out much like a portable DVD player.
Looks great except for the reception over the air. You should use that AV input (grab a 3.5mm to stereo RCA Y cable) and showoff playing something or watching a DVD on it!!
The Laptop looking PC Engine, (the one with the flip top 5 inch screen) had one built in.
I've got one for the Game Gear myself, but it's kinda sad that they'll be pretty much a paper weight soon what with the digital switch-over happening in the next few years.
Really, really impressing. Cant remember ever seeing something like that in europe, but. then again, we're europe ;) How much did you end up paying for that thing? I dont think you said it, or maybe I just missed it
lol. I paid about $35 for it but the original sticker from when it first came out says $133. Even $35 is still not to bad for something rare like this I think
Luke!

Well, the fact that because of the digital era coming over us, there will be no more analog so therefore no more t.v. for the tuner

Yeah, saw the laptop looking one the other day........for $650 if you can believe that.
True enough about the tv adapter but with the AV input it has, you can always use it as a spare monitor for some of your console systems : )

Yeah, they've always been mega-expensive, they were around the $1000 mark at launch.

heck no, 35 bucks sounds quite allrigt. I would've hesitaded if the pricetag STILL said 133, but 35? That sounds like a reasonable price indeed :)

I can remember wanting one of these so bad when it first came out
