The bailout money, because we lack the transparency we need and the Federal Reserve is not held accountable, did not go where we were told it would. The "pork" in the Omnibus billmakes up less than, 2 % of the bill.

If we spend less, the economy grinds to a halt. If we spend money, someone makes money, which gets things moving again. Money flows through the machinery of the economy, making everything work well. No spending, the wheels grind to a halt. Hence the Spending bill. More spending, better economy.

well if we were just in debt the government would spend less and raise taxes because that will simply counteract the inflation caused by the debt. If we were in a recession we would just dump money in the economy like we are doing now. The problem is that we are in a recession and have a massive debt so the we don't know that if when we get out of recession we won't suffer hyperinflation which is the main debate in DC. We should cut back on the services performed by the federal government that are better performed by local government or even private sector. The welfare department is a prime example. Most of the stuff that has happened is because gov't failed to do it's job.

When 9/11 happened CIA, FBI and The Department of Defense failed, Katrina - FEMA failed, Madoff - SEC failed, Bush going to war in Iraq - Congress failed, etc., etc.

There needs to be more gov't involvement in protecting the U.S. citizens and less spending as a whole.

Just the simple fact that the gov. always accepts the low bid is killing them. Simply bid low and then drive the price above the high bid.

I personally bid on a HUD contract to repaint and refinish stairs and floors and replace Sheetrock that had not just had punch holes in it but humans could walk through.

My bid was $35,000.00 There was a bid higher than me for $38,000.00 The low bid was $7,000.00, I had more in materials figured than that. Who won? The $7,000.00 bid of course.

Cont. I must say that the reason I know all that is that I knew the guy in charge of the project. Normally the gov. will not give that info out.

I told him that this guy would buy a couple of gallons of paint and get his 1/3 down and walk.

One week later he asked me to look at the job agoin and rebid it. Yes the guy left with the money. probably returned the paint too.

I told him I didn't need to loook again, my price just went up by $3,000.00. Needless to say I didn't get the job.
