We had job growth of 21 mill jobs under Clinton's cabinet. Bush grew jobs by 3 mill which didn't even keep up with the growth in our population. I really don't know what you're complaining about. I wonder why Ron Paul and his people don't take a more pragmatic view of how to do things. Instead of just shooting to become president, why doesn't he try to get more like-minded congressmen? He could ask his supporters nation-wide to elect to the house X candidate that's in their district. That would build him a huge base and make the presidency reachable. He doesn't do that, instead he makes wild attempts with no success.

Exactly. They should be glad they're getting any tax reductions at all. I say 200 billion in tax cuts, 200 billion in food stamps/welfare checks (stuff that will actually increase demand unlike tax cuts) and the rest in infrastructure and energy for a total pricetag of 900 billion. Something like that sounds good.

This is why Obama will be a good leader. A leader doesn't come in the door and push an agenda without soliciting input and ideas from the team. The true problem is those guys shouldn't be in the room to manage the nation in the first place. The fat, inefficient, no accountability at all government (be it dems or reps) is the one that's screwing up. If they've been wrong all the time then why do we still give them that much to manage?
This consumption-based economy is a structurally damaged Titanic beyond any jolting to save. Obama needs to lay off and let the free market reboot itself rather than further manipulate it.
