  • Will any kind of glue work? Or does it have to be a special type of glue?

  • @Shellydawn69

Yes, I think so, any kind of glue what will work on canvas.

  • Loved it! Great result. Thanks for posting this;-haven't tried it but as we are in the proceeds of buying a really old house,i can think how adaptable this technique could be to larger spaces. • Hi Linda,

I'm glad you like my vids and you make me happy you did some techniques with a good result, thanks a lot for let me know!

  • Carla, Thank you so much for your videos. I am not an artist. I'm probably more of an artist-wanna-be. I did the technique in this video and I stenciled a fleur-de-lis. It turned out wonderful! It was a night of many firsts for me...cut my own stencil, used my hair dryer for art, bought and used spackle... I'll be buying poultry grit before you know it! LOL I didn't even know what that was. I had to look it up! Anyways, your art and spirit are precious! Thank you!

  • Carla, this evening I tried this technique out and enjoyed it so much. I had a few mishaps but I love the result anyway. If you'd like to see it, I can post a picture of it somewhere and send you the link. Thank you so much! I want to experiment with this a lot. Groetjes, Ingrid

  • Dank je Ingrid. En natuurlijk zou ik het leuk vinden om te zien! :-)

  • wow! this is so amazing! now i have a a cheaper alternative to molding paste. i really wanna try this out. however, i'm a bit concerned about cracking. how stable is it? will it crack if the canvas has been pushed back a little after the spackle has dried? or will the spackle fall off or crack if ever that your artwork fell off from the wall?

  • The stuff I use doesn't crackle and doesn't fall off. You can push the canvas.

In my country (The Netherlands) I buy 'Grote gatenvuller' (something as 'big whole filler stuff'..) it's made by 'Alabastine'. That's all I know.. :(

It isn't very cheap, but I'm really in love with it :)

  • thank you so much for this tutorial, the gift of your artwork is very much appreciated.

    My regards XsueX

  • Thanks for let me know! :)

  • Thanks for your comment and for watching, it's nice to know that people like my videos :)

  • Your english is just fine. Thanks, I'm going to have to try this.

  • I am curious what you will make, do you show it?

  • Yes, I think any acrylic medium is ok, because it is sticky too. Thanks for watching :)

  • Carla, I'm not able to locate a glass fiber glue. Would an acrylic medium work or some other type of glue?

This is a great technique. The finished work is wonderful! Thank you for sharing this technique with us.

  • I would love to have a sink in my studio : D. Your a great artist : D

    Peace

    love

    and

    Art Charlene

  • Thanks Charlene :)

Yeah, I'm glad with the sink. I use it a lot.

  • Carla, thank you for making this video. That is a lovely technique! I recently began using spackling in a series I am doing, and your information will be helpful to me. Hugs!!!

  • Thank you for the nice comment. I hope to see in future how it works for you!

  • Erg indrukwekkend!

  • carla this is pretty cool, its nice to meet you and I am watchin for another vid thanks for sharing hugs~jess

  • Thanks Jessica :)

  • Excellant video. Your instructions are easy to follow.

    Thank you

  • Thank you, I'm very pleased to read that!

  • Thanks for sharing your talent! I love learning new things. Thanks so much.... God bless!

  • Thank you Angela

  • This is one of my favorites ;-)

  • Thank you :)

  • Thanks for sharing this, I am going to try this next week. I only remember about three German words. Your English is so good. You have such a deep grasp of Indigenous art! We use the same paint and colors, how cool is that?

  • Hi Lisa,

I'm very curious what you are going to make of it. Can we see it on YouTube? I hope so :)

My German is also very bad, I only knew a few words either (less than English I guess) but we did have translators over there and I could speak just Dutch :-)

But in this region of The Netherlands there are a lot of German people, they are our neighbours in about 3 or 5 km. I live here for more then 2 years now, and now I can understand a bit, but to talk is still difficult.

  • Yikes, so you speak Dutch, I am so silly. With babble fish, I can translate what ever you choose to write in. :)

  • Carla, u Rock !
