I scout for deer everyday for 4 months before the season opens just so I feel that much closer to hunting. And sure the guy had a shitty ass grin but maybe he was in disbelief of what he had in front of him. I do care for wildlife as well but not to the extreme where I wouldn't hunt. We help the deer by hunting.
@FFXIWarriorqueen1 i live in Nebraska and we have neither.. sure we have cougars and coyotes but they only do so much.. biologists did a study.. they fenced in 20 acres so no deer can get in that area.. they watched what the plant life should look like with out the over abundance of deer.. with in no time the grass was way taller.. tree's started growing that couldn't grow before because the deer eat saplings.. hunters and the D.O.W. help keep the deer population in check.
if the population of deer was normal or low then I'm sure the D.O.W. wouldn't sale permits.. plus the money generated from hunters goes right back into conservation. If not for the money generated by the hunters here in Neb. there would've been a huge winter kill.. but the game and parks had the money to fly in hay for herds of deer that had nothing to thrive on due to a really horrible snow storm we had. and in the end the deer pop. is ok and the hunter puts food in his families mouth.
if all of this stilll seems wrong to you then I guess there really is no getting through to you.. but you got to think outside the box.. put your emotional attachment to animals you don't even know aside and see the brighter side of things... don't look at the hunting world as a half empty glass.. you cant free them due to the danger of being kicked. it would take up to 2 weeks for both of them deer to die unless killed by a predator. and you get 2 deer. a win win

They then turned around and tried to sue the hunter, and lost the case badly.

actually ive seen to bucks lock up and 90 percent of the time one or both die, and in some places you can get more than 1 deer ecspecially if your a landowner
Deer antlers have evolved in a fashion to rarely get 'locked' but it still occasionally occurs. Over a year ago, on the Isle of Rum in Scotland, a stag with very few tines had been responsible for the death of at least one other due to the nature of its antlers, spearing it through the shoulder/chest. Equally, in freak happenings, stags lock accidentally and sometimes cannot undo it.

If not for the money generated by the hunters here in Neb. there would've been a huge winter kill.. but the game and parks had the money to fly in hay for herds of deer that had nothing to thrive on due to a really horrible snow storm we had. and in the end the deer pop. is ok and the hunter puts food in his families mouth.

if all of this stilll seems wrong to you then I guess there really is no getting through to you.. but you got to think outside the box.. put your emotional attachment to animals you don't even know aside and see the brighter side of things... don't look at the hunting world as a half empty glass.. Hunting does plenty of good.. plus it's a tradition that has been around since the beginning of time and will continue to be around 'till the end of time.. that's just the cold hard truth.

There are plenty of instances where I make a harmless comment about a video, not directed towards anyone at all, and some ass comes back at me for no reason. No I'm not self conscious, why should I be? I just feel very passionately about animals....just like I'm sure you feel very strongly about hunting or whatever. It's not so much this guy hunting as the dumbass grin on his face that i hate.

First off before you try to have a legal battle with me, my brother is a lawyer and we just recently had a case like this happen. If you are riding an animal during hunting season on hunting grounds, if you or your animal gets shot, you are at fault. Might want to keep that in mind next time you pull this stunt.

First 60% of hunting is done on private property meaning this person would be trespassing and if they know its hunting season and they are trespassing onto hunting land they are at fault. im pretty sure you can see what you are shooting at. no one just says, oh look a moving object, oh i guess it was a deer, or a guy. if its a person and you shoot it then you are an attempted murderer. what about the other 40% of hunting and what about if you dont have fences around your private property and a sign every couple of feet? how is someone supposed to know you reserve the right to shoot them? it sounds like you are a crazy ass who would indeed deserve some vigilante justice.

@LostLikeYou The premise is not of a hunter shooting an person thinking they are an animal, its of a bullet that a hunter sends out towards an animal that strikes a person. 3 years ago a person was deer hunting with a slug shotgun and some tree hugging lunatic was out on private property and was trying to run up to scare the deer, the bullet passed through the deer and badly injured the person. They then turned around and tried to sue the hunter, and lost the case badly.

@BabyBirdWispers For one, bucks locked together like that would die anyhow from exhaustion or predation by other animals. He saved them a lot of suffering. And two, hunting is a way of life. Our anscestors did it to survive and you wouldn't be here today if they hadn't.

actually ive seen to bucks lock up and 90 percent of the time one or both die, and in some places you can get more than 1 deer ecspecially if your a landowner

Deer antlers have evolved in a fashion to rarely get 'locked' but it still occasionally occurs. Over a year ago, on the Isle of Rum in Scotland, a stag with very few tines had been responsible for the death of at least one other due to the nature of its antlers, spearing it through the shoulder/chest. Equally, in freak happenings, stags lock accidentally and sometimes cannot undo it.

Pfffft. I'm an animal lover, and I'm sorry, I just don't see the intelligence of putting yourself in mortal danger in an attempt to saw them apart. I really don't see any issue whatsoever in shooting them - hell, it's probably 10x more humane then normal hunting, at least you get a point blank shot!
