I am so sick and fucking tired of these ignorant assholes who say that sexuality can be changed. Have they ever been gay, bi, lesbian, or trans?! No, and yet they talk shit about situations they know absolutely nothing about. If sexuality could be changed then I would've changed from a straight man to an asexual. It would've saved me from a lot of eternal trouble with God.
So this is what I don't get you guys say being gay can't be changed so we should just give up on criminals cause they are always going to break the laws cause that what they do it can't be changed... IT'S a frame of mind shit, I could compose the most gay, ass grabbing, ball tumbiling, nuts in my mouth thoughts or I can think straight and be happy I can have kids and flourish as a man.
Really it is a matter of morality, I would dis-like the fact that when my kids grow up being gay or straight will be secound nature (although a lot of people were saying they are bi, like left and right in highschool)... What if it was alright in soceity to be able to hit somebody in face cause you just don't like them. Its morality. The reason why for many of thousand of years nobody practiced gay or lesbian... has to be a good reason
Homosexuality has been around from the beginning of time it is a natural part of being human. It has been around long b4 Christianity said that being gay is wrong. I would feel very sory for one of your kids if they are born gay. My father couldnt deal with the fact that I was gay and he disowned me. I tried to commit suicide when i was 17 because of people like you sir luckly God had different plans for me. I would only ask that you educate yourself b4 you make judgements on those you dont like
You can only help yourself, I thought I was little gang banger growing up and thought smoking weed, breaking the law was fun and natural for kids my age my dad absoulutly hated me and said I was punk etc. But what did I do I redeemed my self and made a change for the better and found more acceptence and didn't get jumped all the time. DO you get what I am saying. Its a decision no I won't slander you, or would ever commit a hate crime. When you live your life wrong laws of the earth have ways!
I just found you guys on youtube this evening and I have to say, You are definatly a HUGE insperation for MANY gay couples out there! You have a beautiful family andanyone who watches your videos can easily see the love for one another! I just hope that my Fiance (as of sunday) and I get to Marry and have a amazing family like yours! I wish you both all the best and if your ever in NJ, Look us up! Would love to go to dinner sometime! Keep up the Great videos! -Keith from NJ
I suspect more people have those types of feelings that society realizes. Gay people often say there are many more gay people than who come out. I am sure the same applies to being transgender.
Bryan, you seem more at ease on your own in front of the camera now. Good for you.
Thank you for sharing this. The video that Bananabread did about being transgender lit a fire under my butt to connect with an old friend. We actually got to spend a few days together last month and oh boy, it was great!
She's still Tammy, a bit gray around the edges lol aren't we all though? :-))) I'm gonna give her a call later this evening and tell her thanks for being her. :-D
Personally, I think a person is only transgender if they want the genitalia of the opposite sex. This stuff about "I'm a woman/man in spirit" is just bunk. You can wear girl/guy clothes and talk in a high/low pitch and still be a man/woman, because gender is biological, not "spiritual".
Gender (or cis-gender) has to do with the social roles attributed to one's genetic sex. Transgender, androgyny, et. al. refer to crossing beyond those boundaries and behaviours that society identifies as typical of the opposite sex.
Transsexuality involves changing the biology that results from one's genes, i.e., surgically.
That's interesting, because I looked up the word transgender and it said: a person appearing or attempting to be a member of the opposite sex, as a transsexual or habitual cross-dresser.
See, it uses both words interchangeably, so if what you say is true, then the dictionary seems to be confused too.
I know what gender identity is. I'm far from ignorant. People who think they're the opposite sex just because they like high heels or wrestling are more into labels than anyone. I think only the people who want the opposite genitalia are really "born in the wrong body".
P.S.: Saying "trangendered people are fantastic" is a blatant generalization.
Every human is fantastic in their own right. How dare I generalize the human race in a positive light! I should be ashamed and be damned to hell!
Please.
FYI: There is a big difference between those who want to dress like the opposite sex and those who have the gender identity opposite of their physical body.
So it is clear that you do NOT know what it is since you are lumping the very diverse transgendered community into one small group.
Wow, I'm all in stitches. I can't tell you how much your support means to me, and to so many people in our community. Thank you for every gift of your time and words, but especially for this one, which I will never forget, especially because the precipitate was having you as friends to come out to. Now, on to equality!
Love,
Sama
P.S. If i ever find a concrete definition that makes sense, you'll be the first to know - but it sounds like you've got it down.
Ummm... What happend to my comment? Youtube Gerr! haha
Thanks so much for posting this video you guys. I felt so embarrassed. I actually wasnt aware of trans-gender remembrance day. But I recently came out so I'm slowly getting familiar with things. You guys are the sweetest ppl Iv ever known. I know the battles we fight are different. But there the same in a way. We both want to same thing. Equality and Understanding.
Bryan, Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. Especially since you known me for most of our lives. This day means so much to me as a trans person aa it does for other transpeople. I'm attending my local TDoR and doing all that I can I can for those that we lost this past year. Please, if you can, find your Local TDoR. It's not just for Transpeople. It's for friends, families allies, etc. Let them know we are people too.
I have quite a few TG friends. I just think of it as a birth defect. The same people who would rally for a person with a correctable defect such as a cleft palette but have such fear and loathing for TGs....I am just recently coming to realize that stupidity is a reality. Not ignorance - Not prejudice, but just dumb. No capacity to think independently or investigate or seek truth. Bless the lost and those who loved them. Let freedom SING
I try to keep up on news from all over the LGBTQ community, but I had never even heard of the Day of Remembrance until this. My heart breaks every time I read about an attack on a transperson just for being who they are (or anyone, really, LGBTQ or no).
Thanks again for another enlightening video.
P.S. On a lighter note, Bryan I like your hoodie in this one.
hey guys I don't know if you know are not but I live with being transgender I feel I was born into the wrong body and I posted a VR about this one of my old videos
I learn something new everytime I watch one of your videos, it is so great to be able to watch something on here and learn something from it. I don't care who you are because I have always looked at people just being another human being no matter what. Great video! Take care and stay safe!
I feel so embarrassed!! I didnt even know today was trans-gender remembrance. I guess I'm still new to the seen/community. After all I just came out afew mnths ago. But thank you so much Jay and Brain! If only the rest of the world where as more understanding as you guys! But I suppose thats what were both trying to fight for. Even if are battles are different. Somehow it feels like "transgender" is the next "gay" — these days people become more aware and more accepting of gays, but have no clue about transgendered people, just like most of gay people now have no clue about transgender issues. It's great to see that we are ready to open our minds (and hearts) for those who we don't understand, just like str8 people opened their minds to understand us.
And, Bryan, kudos to you: I have no idea where you get all that time to blog & vlog every day!
Well, I'm wondering what she meant by saying that she was gay. If she thinks of herself as more of a male in a girl's body, could she have meant that she likes other guys?
Or did she just mean that she likes other girls, even though she thinks of herself as a guy and then would be considered straight? @_@
Good eye, that's a very common conundrum among transgendered people. "Gay" is generally the male word for homosexuality, where "Lesbian" is the female. In a long-term relationship, one may also identify the same way as one's partner, just for the sake of the other partner's identity. When that relationship is healthy, the label isn't important.
The separation to make is between self-identity and sexual orientation. But that's hir* (his/her) story to tell! :) There's no one answer, afaik
LIkely many I was clueless about transgender people.
