This was the film that opened me up to Clint Eastwood as the director. I've since developed a deep appreciation toward him as an artist and filmmaker and humanitrian. A true talent.
@ZombiePanda501 Clint could dye his hair pink and put sparkles in it and he would still be bad ass. Some people just reach a point that they are beyond ridicule and Clint Eastwood is one of them.
me and clint do cocaine .and beat zipper heads. jk. he dope. and i understand what grand torino is about. its a dope concept. dope movie. dope story. dope everyhting clint eastwood is the man. never say never true
Im hmong n I am proud that u made a movie about our people n culture. We have been a prominent asset in recent American history but only the negative issues are being shown n talked about. I'd like to see more of the positve side revealed as well in the future. I luv the movie.
Clint Eastwood is 10x better than Arnie and Chuck! he made a handgun famous not with so much a movie but a LINE and he played as a grumpy old man in a non "violence" film that is actually one of my favorite movies
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Chuck Norris is a hundred times better as an Actor, given a chance to Direct films, Chuck will PWN Clint...plus Clint cannot do roundhouse kicks, nuff said.
One of my teachers (who happens to be a very liberal homosexual) said that this movie poses the question: "Who gets white America?"...what do you people think of that?
The interviewing guy obviously didn't learn much about cinema in his life if he's asking such questions. Of course- bad ass/hard ass quotes resemble those of Dirty Harry but only in the fact that they're played by the same actor. Gran Torino has a completely different story behind it. Interviewer acted like he was unaware of the variety of Clint's roles and the movies he directed. Lot of them where very deep, sincere and touching. Clint's greatness is not only based on saying bad ass quotes
can anybody tell me what the main idea of the movie was? like the basic message for the whole movie? cause i know the title of it was from the car,but whats the main idea of the movie?
i dont know for sure but ima guess in my opinion that the whole movie was kinda based around being able to stand up for urself and not let anything or anyone walk all over you and that theres good in everyone out there
Clint is a great actor and seems to me, from where I sit as a fan and viewer of his movies and interviews, to be a good man with that "Callahan" sence of humor. I do get annoyed sometimes at whoever is doing the interview. Some idiots are always trying to tie in each of his roles with "Dirty Harry" somehow. It's like they all wanna ask the question they know he's sick of and can't answer the way they want, which is; 'Will you ever do another Dirty Harry film?". lol So they alude to it hoping...
.....Clint's going to say; "Funny you mentioned that,, I'm working on......" lmao
He's done such great work, and some very different characters, it almost seems silly to keep bringing up Dirty Harry at this point. I love Harry Callahan, but if he did another at this point, can you imagine how many dead partners Harry would have by now after all these years! lmao I'd say Harry probably retired to save any possible new partners years ago. lol For the true western fan I have an idea!......
.....Ya' know people hated Bruce Dern for alot of years for killing "Will Anderson" in the "Cowboys", aka John Wayne. Clint should end his western making with finding Bruce's character from that film and killing him off as maybe one of those kids grown up? lol Bruce got dragged away in that film by a horse with a broken leg, but you never actually see Bruce killed in it. Might be neat to see Clint tie his last western with Wayne's, and killing Bruce's character would be a fun way to do it. Hmm?
I know old spry men like Walt Kowalski and it's great because they're never politically correct. You can find them in old barber, gun, or hardware shops in small towns. After hanging around with them, it's hard to enjoy being around peers. My peers are way to politically correct. I've found them to be as wise as Yoda.
