@xXAndy92 8 flags in 40 years and most of them purchased before the salary cap was introduced in the late 80's - writing a cheque really isn't a difficult task. Oh and count yourselves lucky that it was in 2001 you got busted for being the crooked bunch of cheats you are and not a few years earlier. But anyway that's all in the past - the present is much more entertaining - Geelong is the reigning premier and Carlton is sinking further into debt and no Richard Pratt to bail you out.

@thisrocks88 Real Madrid and Man-U just add weight to my argument that money = premierships, however there are exceptions - Geelong. If you knew anything about them or the AFL/VFL you'll know that they have NEVER been one of the wealthy clubs. Geelong does however have something that other clubs lack - LOYALTY from players - our stars have taken massive pay cuts to stay together and will continue to do so, oh and in the past other clubs like Essendon also bought their fair share of silverware.

@PaulFromOzz yeah and you're such a fucking expert, big deal you won a game against us - last time I checked you don't win flags in April (or was that game in may, who gives a toss anyway). Never said Carlton was in debt, but the way things are going its not looking good membership-wise, and the AFL won't be propping up ailing clubs in the future, not with 2 new entrants, hopefully they'll eventually fold and I can really 'lol' (oh god, he even types like a teenybopper).

They weren't champions from day one you tool. You want to talk about handouts look a bit closer to home - all those early draft picks from THREE WOODEN SPOONS (with the exception of the salary cap breach - naughty naughty look what happened to the Storm). Oh and the AFL changed the rules to stop teams from purchasing premierships.
