Awesome video and great taste in music, i also also have the 7D and just starting to make videos much like this. One thing i can suggest is possibly running the whole thing through a program that reduces shaking? i have done it on a few of mine using iMovie 09' and it really makes so much difference! ..or the expensive option of getting one of those teffin steadicams :) anyway keep it up dude :) Rob
Hi, fixxxer1988 i noticed you mentioned having the 7d and imovie, can you give me a little advice, does the footage from the camera transfer straight to mac without any conversion etc. does it run ok in imovie, ive heard the 5d mk ii footage crashes when editing unless you have a ridiculously powerful machine, and do you know if it works with final cut express, if you have time to answer please do, thanks. Additional - I use a new macbook pro 15inch, 2.66ghz intel core 2 duo, 4gb memory, 320hd.
All i do i plug my CF card into the reader and transfer the original files from the card to the computer (you can go into the option and say what you would like it converted to, i do this sometimes) but once the videos are on your computer import them to imovie and that will convert them automatically (remains 1080i) that is the simple approach, or you can go the final cut route which is much the same but a lot more control over conversion types ect (do this when im doing big edits)
also i mainly run into a White macbook 2.2ghz 2.5gb RAM and it a little slow but it really doesnt struggle all that much when doing all this editing, so as far i know its all pretty smooth. Where did you hear about the 5DMKII issue? Rob
Thank you for your reply fixxxer1988, massively appreciated :) That doesn't sound too complicated then, it was just incase loads of conversion needed doing and maybes losing quality in the process etc was what I was worried about.
I've read it on different forums including an apple one, it said that imovie unexpectedly quits with 5d M II footage, with lots of lagging and very slow editing, and for better results adding some sort of double processors :S to handle the data and then probably using FCP for it to run smooth.
There was more talk with people suggesting many other solutions, it's just that one caught my eye because it would cost a LOT to make that happen lol I read something like... the canon 5d MK II is great for making HD footage and viewing it back, but as soon as you want to edit the stuff, your going to basically need the best equipment etc.
nice footage, just get a tripod ! ;)
