Boot up time on the HP TP is longer because it connects to your webOS Cloud Profile and updates all active synergy accounts before it is ready to use.
Well i just done the jailbreak/Preware on the HP touch pad and now it is super fast in speed u can also download stuff u cant get anywhere else. Just one i downloaded was u can make the brightness go lower than it already could it could go down from 100% to 10% but now it can go down 100& to 1%. Pretty cool there are also more features u can download :) this dude helped me out pretty well..... TRUST ME its worth downloading :)
@hmunakib the name is "Hp touchpad vs iPad 2!" the Description says "this is a speedtest of the new hp touchpad vs the ipad 2!!!" Since we are going to make a big deal haha
Here's all the comparison you need: Apple makes an iPad, HP doesn't make a Touchpad anymore. Are you a SUCKER who bought a Touchpad or a XOOM? ROFLMAO!!!
@MrGameItUp What's cool is that the $99 price being so popular will all but KILL the Android tablets. Android fangirls are used to cellphone subsidized prices. They won't pay $400 for a tablet. They are very vocal but a very cheap group as a whole. Not a lot of future making tablets for them for vendors.
I think HP tablet is too late in the market of tablet area. Not Android, not Apple , Very very limited apps. Why buy HP? when there two leading competitors Android and Apple market with tons of apps. HP screwed up and too late on getting into tablets. Its on sale 100.00 off because they are not selling well. Duh... HP your too late.. that my thoughts on HP OS Web tablet. NOT WORTH IT. Either your Apple or Android fan that bottom line.
@robush4 regardless of the effectiveness or limitations of ios! It is an Os, regardless of how you feel. I said before Webos is a more stable and better os just not enough app support YET!
@MrGameItUp uh... i think you're missing something...those were your quotes. i have been telling you iOS is an os. which you claim(ed) it was not. see if it makes more sense now...
@MrGameItUp also, i have actually developed for both platforms and it is a completely different experience between the two. apples to oranges. each has their strong points. i'm not advocating one over the other, just pointing out they they are, in fact, both operating systems...
Touchpad (includes): inductive charging, Touch to Share, resizable keyboard, dedicated number row, built in Skype integration for voice and video chat, bluetooth SMS and call forwarding to tab, Beats Audio, interrogated printer app to Hp printers, Synergy*, off screen up swipe for card view and launcher, webOS Doctor, HP Butler, built in Flash, HP Pivot for app catalog, HP Backed webOS Internals. All these features are free and built in to webOS. OTA coming this week for lag and bugs. Thanks!
@randolphmlong Both Devices were completely Turned off.. meaning they are powered off... Not asleep... And Its not misleading at all. Both devices turn off and both devices can be put to sleep. They both turn on instantly when put to sleep so there's not much of a point in doing a speedtest on how fast they can be used from sleep mode. Educate yourself before you speak next time please. This is a benchmark test for devices and if you don't Like it DON'T watch it.
I don't care about boot up time BUT...you can do multiple things at the same time. In iOS you have to open app, close app, open app, close app, open app, close app. You can continue to complain about the slow boot up time while I kick anybody with apple to sleep doing multiple things at once (which is what most people do anyways) once it gets booted up.
you can also do this true multitasking with expose style cards on ipad but you have to jailbreak it first. Once you JB ipad, everything else just seems even more crap.
I dont mind the nice bit of information about the start-up time, but i hardly would call this a notable comparison? If a lamborghini took longer to start than a toyota camry does that make it a better car?
@Bballjag18 Again, I can understand that boot-up speed isn't to important but is a test/comparison used in the tech world. NO matter what device or gadget the boot-up speed is tested and should be seen by consumers. My intent is to inform those that do care about the boot-up speed. LAMBORGHINI any day!! lol
I honestly see why would people care on the boot up? I own both the HP Touchpad and the iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab and others. I rarely ever turn them off, perhaps once a month or before I go onto a plane.
@loudimpact I dont find it to be a big deal myself but it's a huge comparison in the tech world. as i told lint028 mine only turns off when i use it until it dies... lol Great OS on the Hp too!! why no rear facing Camera Though?
@lint028 This is true they both have a sleep/ power button. Main reason my ipad 2 goes off is because i use it til it dies. lol Love my Ipad 2! I am mainly showing the bootup test because this has always been a form of comparison between devices.

@DeepThroatYogurt For web browsing i do lean toward the Hp because it does have a flash player so any site that you may visit will work!! LOL

@TheGrayfox76 The HP App Catalog has more tablet optimized apps than Android. You fail.
andrewfickert 6 months ago
@TheGrayfox76 HP discontinued all consume products. PC's, phones, tablets, etc. Plus, I'd say android has less tablet optimized apps then WebOS.

i think you just needed a refresher on what an OS is. looks like you got it worked out here:
"ios is a Mobile Operating System created by apple."
great job.

no doubt HP will rip them up, they make the best products, hands down.

The reason the Touchpad's boot up tome is longer because it connects to the cloud to syncs your webOS profile and all Synergy accounts.
Thanks!

@ariker01 great feedback man... Thanks a lot

Wauw so a useless One app at a time device without a real OS (Ipad2) launches faster.
Man 1 minute of time saved every 14 days that really makes it a better tablet.
Next time consider that webos is actually an OS while iOs is not.
