While I'm at it, I may as well say that I think Propagandhi's tribute to Venom, "Stand Up And Be Counted," was as good -or better- than when Venom performed it themselves. Blasphemy, you say? Perhaps so - but fuck blasphemy. Propagandhi did some amazing covers as well as writing a good deal of fanfuckingtastic original music.

I was 12 when this came out. A friendly female classmate asked me to steal the CD for her. I didn't know the band - or much else, being 12; but the girl who beguiled me into taking it gave me my first blowjob later that day, and the album still ranks among my all-time favorites. I love their early material; but I lost interest in them when they released "Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes". Still, great memories..

I used to go see these guys live well before this album came out. They'd play locally like once every couple months at least. I remember once at Les Rendevous it was NOFX, Lag Wagon, and Propagandhi in one show. Amazing. It was after they signed their Fat Wreck deal, but before this album hit stores. I still have an old demo of theirs - Martial Law with a Cherry on Top.
