Yeah well screw you for anyone who says 'oh well can't feel sorry for them'. DUH! No matter where you live there is something, whether it's tornadoes or hurricanes or earthquakes, you can't just pick up and move away from it ALL now can you?? I'm sorry but that pissed me off... that was my aunt talking and I was the neice that was in it and I tell you one thing, that was the only tornado Picher has had in atleast 60 years you idiot. I still struggle mentally and emotionally from that. Whatever.
I honeslty have a hard time feeling sorry for most of these people. If this only happend once in awhile I would be all over sending money trying to help out but no its every year. The same tornados and stroms every year and the people never wise up and move.
A house in Oklahoma has a 1 in 10 million chance of being wiped out by a tornado. You have a one in 5000 chance of being killed in a car accident. Give up the retarded act and do some research idiot. You are a slave to the media! We are talking about a vast area, places never hit more than once in thousands of years! I hate to ask where you live. I'm sure I could find several reasons why not to help you out should something happen to you. Get your head out of your ass, please.
yea the point I was making is I dont ask for government relief or ask for a state of emergancy to be declared when I get hit by a car. Im not stupid enough to watch American TV or news.
When was the last year you didnt hear of a tornado taking out some town in the mid west. You know the risk you make a choice you deal with it. Like I said same people every year. Its not like this is rare is it? A flood earthquake ect ect they dont take the same areas out every single year do they?
There has only been one instance when a tornado hit the same SUBURB twice in 5 years, hence the 1 in 10 million chance of being hit by a tornado. And most of those hit do not receive ANY assistance. If you have ANY insurance at all, no matter how small, you DO NOT qualify. You will not qualify for disaster assistance if you rent the space you live or work. And even if none of the above is true, there are miles of red tape to cut through before assistance is received.
Because that is where they are most likely to happen yes. But there has been a major tornado in every state. Everybody living in the US is in danger from some type of natural disaster. What exactly is it that you think should happen? Keep in mind what I have stated about disaster assistance. It's easier to get US disaster aid overseas than it is right in your own backyard. Just look at New Orleans today and tell me they all got hand-outs.
Wow your not getting it. Twist my points around so more please. When did I say Americans shouldnt get help when there is a natural disater other then the Tornado ally states. Of course everyone is at threat of natural disaters but how many states get hit by mutliple natural disaters ever signle year? They know living there that a tornado will hit there state that year. Its not like the flood or the earthquake that might happen that year. The Tornado will happen. Thats the point I am making.
You also have to figure in the fact that 80% of tornadoes are ERF0-EF1 strength a those do only light to minor roof damage which insurance covers and municipalities can pay off the damage to their buildings, and most of these tornadoes stay out in the country side and only last a couple of minutes. EF4 and EF5 tornadoes make up fewer than 1% of all tornadoes and the tornado that hit Picher was an EF4.
Why does everyone blame everthing on the news. Yeah, fox & cnn(two heavily critizied news channels) blow everything up, but they aren't the only news stations around. New York 1 tells the truth, the good and the bad instead of blurting crisises everywhere. NPR told the story AND how it's unlikley a tornado will hit Oklahoma soon.
