  • Dancer*

  • Apparently this film is sadder than dance in the dark. I doubt it but here we go!

  • Hands down, my favorite movie of all time. Incredible.

  • The girls pretty cute. :)

  • This is the korean's version of saving private ryan. :)

  • @MrHoppers002 Saving private ryan is shit taeguki is not deal with it.

  • really? saving private ryan was made by the legendary steven spielberg. O_O

  • who is the woman who sings in the 6:46

  • @Barracuda84full Park Hyang Lim. Unluckily, from a Korean Wikipedia, the article stated she died four years before the Korean War.

  • this story makes me cry..this was a nice story

  • this wasnt a saving private ryan but i say it was a decent movie

  • The Korean War to Koreans is like the Vietnam War is to America. The KW tore Korea apart. The VW tore America apart not literally, but as a society with people opposing the war and disrespecting the veterans. Also it was a war America could not win thus leaving a thorn at it's side. Trivia: Koreans troops were involved in the Vietnam War as well though it was seldom mentioned since they were only allied assistence.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!! press shift 13:D

  • Hmong ppl origin are from Southern part of China but even if we have a good amount of population we just dont love each other and we fight each other in war the individual is too greedy all they care about is money not the ppl tha only one that care about the ppl is our leader general Vang Pao ALL IM TRYIN TO SAY IS HMONG PPL DONT KNOW HOW 2 UNITE

  • @PorChouaYang1 I stress that everyday!

  • Comment removed

  • This movie is the korean version of Saving Private Ryan, but it's more dramatic.

  • @expertstrategy No its not. Its completely different.

  • negged

  • omg this remind me of the hmong vietnamese fighting the Hmong laos in tha secret war n it is still goin on hmong vietnamese are being slaughter in tha jungle i feel sad that WE HMONG ARE BEING USE SOOO MUCH BY SOOO MANY COUNTRY TO NAME SOME: china, vietnam as in north long time ago, laos, thailand, and yes AMERICA

  • @PorChouaYang1

why don't you Hmong people establish your own country? is it because you are a minority in every states dispersed across the world. where is the Hmong people's natural inhabitant ? Laos?

  • @bigfatdick5000

Not too sure on the exact history, but I believe Hmong people are sort of "mulatto" or mixed, so we don't have a particular country. Considering most countries are established already, the only way we can establish one is if we take over a pre-owned country and that entitles that we start a war, which is what the so-called hmong "leader" general Vang Pao tried to do (his target was Laos). Unless we want war, we will forever be a minority.

  • if any-1 want this movie just PM me ill give u megaupload link HD video with English sub...

  • 240p we meet again

  • @Ben101JokerAshur86 Hi, I'm S.Korean. Tell him we appreciate so much. thank you

  • im hispanic but one of my best friends is korean, he showed me this movie and i became a huge taegukgi fan

  • Why won't america make a korean war film?

  • @angels96t

    honestly they shouldnt

they dont understand what koreans went through (although they aided) during the korean war

just like how koreans dont know what americans went through during the american revolution

  • @timkokoko what about vietnam? we make plenty of movies about that.

  • @JebusLee same thing

angel asked why america wouldnt make KOREAN war films i just simply answered her question

to answer your question vietnam should make them but im not gonna criticize america for making korean or vietnam war movies unless they suck

  • @angels96t a good news is 17 Days Of Winter release in 2012 about U.S army versus Chinese army in 1950s in South korea

  • WoW awesome pretty granddaughter! ;)

  • this is the greatest war film ever! what an ending great stuff

  • LOL u guys r HILARIOUS!!! XDDD but ima enjoy the movie now :P

  • @DJsharp707 Read the history book.. First, north korean surprise attacks seoul and takes over and pushes the south koreans and teh USA to the Pusan defense line due to no sufficiant weapon against the T-34 tanks the the Sovets supplied the North korea. When the supplies arrived the USA and the SOK pushed back the north korean, and the chinese attacked the USA and SOK forces with their massive numbers til pusan line again. (but lost died from disease)

  • @TheGentlemanWolf are you retarded? seoul is in south korea and china didnt fight in the war they supplied NK along with soviet union...Lol fail

  • @DJsharp707 I think you're retarded. How did the PRC not join in the war? Not only did they supply the DPRK, they even sent soldiers to fight in the war. But officially, they were volunteers, not actual soldiers. The DPRK and the PRC suffered well over one million casualties. You sir, is the fail here. Don't pretend to know anything when you actually don't. And most of all, don't try to debate something you know nothing about.

  • @DJsharp707 WOW biggest retard ive seen on the internet . opposite of w/e u said is the right info

  • @creativersd obvious troll is obvious

  • how many parts are here in total?

  • my family was fortunate to escape from north korea before all this happened :'D im thankful im here haha

  • @raider577 yeah im in the UK love this film man

  • is this the movie 태국기 휘날리며?

  • this is really really good movie that inspired me alot and cried multiple times!!

  • The first part was the best scene in the entire movies since they were happy, but then all went wrong.

  • damn my crappy laptop the volume wont go high enough to understand

  • right at 3:00, the guy standing up, facing left, head down, wearing a black vest, and has long black hair....that is Jaejoong from JYJ :)

my all-time favourite movie. this is like what...my 110th time watching it? absolutely amazing.

  • OMG itz WON BIN....hiz smile makez mha day...lol

  • @TheGentlemanWolf The Korean war I mean not my Grand father.

  • @TheGentlemanWolf My grand father lost his legs in a beach assault from a mine in the Korean war. It's sad how many people do not know about it. It never seems to be taught about in school here.

  • i tried researching doom II Yung is that real because i cannot find it. or is that just apart of the movie 3:51

  • i love the way i can watch a sick movie on youtube :) just the parts thing is gay would be pro if someone had mega internet and uploaded the full thing ;D

  • @RankOne0121 I don't know what part of the world you are. Korean movies including this one can be bought in the UK on DVD for about £3 ($5).

  • kool ue Hmong too..

  • I have have the hmong dub version. Never really pay attention to it until now. it's such a sad movie.

  • these is my 2nd time watching it. . :))

  • There was a friendly fire incident when two south Korean soldiers fired their assaults rifles at a civilian airliner after mistaking it for a North Korean jet. Good thing though it wasn't damaged and no one was killed. It seems like as long we have north and south Korea, it will never changes. As long we have bases in SK and else parts of the world, then US will suffer badly economically, politically, and socially.

  • @Hperman09 it was two american peacekeeping soldiers actually.

  • @Lostprophetzzz no idiot it was south Korean soldiers.

  • @Hperman09 i stand corrected.

  • @Lostprophetzzz what do you mean by that?

  • @Hperman09 that i stand corrected.

    i was wrong,

    you corrected me.

    you were right

    i admit it.

  • One of the saddest movies I have ever seen.

  • BEST MOVIE IN THE WORLD!

  • (sorry to say) but anyone know where u can watch this in better quality???

im gonna watch this movie either way, i've heard it's truly amazing >w<~!

    thanks ppl :]

  • kind of reminds me of Letters of Iwojima in the beginning

  • This is one of the few movies ive ever drawn a tear to, the end part that is

  • I dont know why people hate communism so much. In my opinion communism can be great, however its the leaders that manipulate communism. Why do so many people turn to communism in the first place? It promises equal economic statuses, which would decrease the amount of poor and lessen the gap between the rich and poor. But the leaders are the one who corrupt it, that's why its seen as a horrible governmental system.

  • @bankaikun94 Communism would work only in a perfect society. You get the same amount of food no matter how much you work. You can barely work and still get food for it and same for working hard.

  • @bankaikun94

That's what my history teacher told me. Yes, communism is a great concept if implemented right. It's just that the ones who are in charge gets overcome with greed.

  • @bankaikun94 the idea and concept of communism equals Paradise. But all humans beings have something called greed which contrasts the idea of communism

  • @bankaikun94 first go there and live it then u can just express ur opinion

  • @bankaikun94 a nation cannot be remain wealthy under communism.

  • @bankaikun94

    I will kill you

  • @bankaikun94

And sir, that is why communism sucks. Communism itself doesn't sound so bad however in reality, it is taken advantage of.

  • @bankaikun94

Because the "communism", people have in their mind's today, are impressions of really screwed up corrupted communist countries around the world, where it did not benefit their common people. Most Communist states have ceased to exist to Capitalist states in the Cold War, other than China which evolved it's ideology to adapt.

1950: Communism = Worldwide Revolution, Hopes for Equality, Breath of Fresh Air for the masses.

2010: Communism = Old tired corrupted Communist states.

  • @bigfatdick5000 Communism was "old" and corrupted in the 50's as well. It caused a lot of problem and suffering in my home, and we are bearing it's damned legacy even today, 22 years after the change of regime. No doubt, that we have to achive social justice, but it's a wrong theory and wrong method. I belive, that a new monetary system, a well regulated market together with planning and cooperative market players (instead of crazy and blind competition) will solve the problem of capitalism.

  • @bigfatdick5000 I'm from Hungary and we have a 'little experience with them. We rebelled and fought against them and the communist dictator Mátyás Rákosi in 1956, but they won with the help of russian tanks and fucking traitors, like János Kádár. The Central and Eastern European Countries have disengaged only around the dissolution of the Soviet Union. My home country in 1989, a few years before perestroika in the USSR.

  • @bigfatdick5000 Now there is capitalism at home with mindless, corrupt, inhuman, socialdarwinist lasse faire attitude, with a lot of debt and a lot of ugly, incompetent politician, who are making it even wors due very high taxes. To be honest, I hate both regime. Anyway, South-Korea is a beautiful country, and this is one of the the greatest war moovies, I ever saw. God bless you!

  • @Gotovinafan1 *worse

  • *worse *movies

    sry for wrong spelling

  • This movie was great hit in Korea, more than 10 M, one fourth of Koreans watched it in theatre. I also watched it and wow..I experienced Korean Movie advanced itself in great distance.

  • it's painful that you may never meet your family again, while they are in North Korea and you are in South Korea...

    fucking communism

  • i'm korean

just shut up and watch the fucking movie

this about the worst mistake which kroean people made

  • @numberan Am not korean but i like this movie in fact i have it on DVD.

  • Comment removed

  • @numberan Im korean too. Korean people? it was not the peoples fault.

  • @CPCChina LOL, China Commies are the main cause Koreans cannot unify, I guess, because you backed your brother North Koreans. This is why your nickname is Ching chang chong chinks Barbarian animals we call.... lmfao...demon country, so harmful country to the whole universe is chinks changs chungs.....ching chang chung ching chang chung......

  • It's always amusing to see folks from China being all bold and free-speechy on international websites. I assume they don't have the concept of irony over there.

  • @CPCChina Chinese and North Koreans who were backed by Commies ARE demons, not just portrayed as demons. LOL XD

  • Hey how is Jin-Seok running around like that without dying of breath?

I mean, that's what happens when he's in the trenches because of his "heart problems" or whatever his brother said...

  • SOUTH KOREA YAHHHHH

  • @Goobertay.. As UN encroached an area that was already heavily populated by Koreans who fled the peninsula during the repressive 38 years preceding the World War II, China felt DIRECTLY threatened. To China, this was no proxy war, this was a direct conflict. I suggest you read up a little bit more before you start criticizing others with asinine vulgarity.

  • @ Goobertay.. For someone who seems quite knowledgeable, I think you've misstepped a little bit. China never played a major role in the proxy war. Proxy war, by definition, means that you are using others to play your little geopolitical game--Chinese, if you can recall, played a direct role in the so-called "Forgotten War." China, at this point in time, was not a big part of world discussion: they just got out of a bloody civil war, and they weren't even part of UN security council.

  • i noticed alot of war movies from asian sides such as Letters from iwojma and this movie a really sad

  • Everyone just shut the fuck up and watch the god-damn movie already. Is there a board on this website that doesn't spiral into a pointless I-know-more-than-you debate?

  • copy and paste

  • @RollandB well put

  • Comment removed

  • @RollandB Ohh yeah? Well, you can shut the fuck up too you piece of rat filth!

  • @RollandB it's the internet, what do you expect

  • its funny how people believe what theyve read in their high school history textbooks and go on the internet with their limited understanding of things...

the korean war was a proxy war fought by the soviets / chinese vs the united states.

rather than going to war outright with one another, this war was an indirect war...

the war was a bit more complicated than "oh, the country needs our help...lets go...yay"

    ...

i bet you still think iraq needed to be liberated.

  • @goobertay

It was Soviets vs. US, not China. China only assisted with NK, dumbass.

  • @darumi312 go read a fucking book.

it was the soviets / chinese that assisted the north....via supplies and men.

    you stupid fucking cunt

  • @goobertay

Go read the fucken history, China only stepped in because NKoreans were getting defeated near the Yalu river. China was also aided by Russian supplies, the same thing with North Koreans, stupidass cunt. Russia never intervened the war, so it was really Soviet Union vs. US, dickface.

  • I love how every country bitches and whines about the US until they need us.

  • @rice31254 I don't think im gonna see US helping Finland if Russia attacks...

  • @coffeemon5ter

"damned if you do damned if you don't"

So true. Sometimes, one feels like yelling "f*ck off and sort out your own sh*t yourself, w*nkers !!"

  • @Briselance fucking christ...

ever think about how much money goes into having a US presence abroad?

people are making money off of this shit, you fools

  • @goobertay

"ever think about how much money goes into having a US presence abroad?"

Dunno, but it's safe bet to say it probably costs much.

  • la mejor pelikula ke a existid lastima ke el cine gringo censure mxo al asiatiko

  • those shoes are mine, betch. BETCH!

  • Best Korea War movie. People could fight and die for a better life or just because of the loved one, it's normal, i would do the same thing like these 2 brothers. To hell with idealism and propaganda, I simply know that i have to protect what i love. But this is a good and very touching movie by anymeans.

  • fuck shes hot

  • @coffeemon5ter The problem with US and its wars is that there is no war. The Afghanistan war would end if US would focus on building new roads etc to improve living conditions of locals. Almoust all taleban activity is a consequence from bad living conditions. Talebans actually treat local population better than the government, thats the reason why they support talebans.

Also, you must note that in highly developed countries there is almost no terrorist activity.

  • @ljlassi The Taliban treat the people like shit, they threaten and murder them. The Taliban hate the idea of development and new technology. Please get your facts right.

  • @CommissarAlfie Thats not exactly true, taliban hate the idea of some development, like some high technology. But the thing is, that taliban support locals by building roads etc, and they actually treat locals well, a lot better than the Kabul government. When they murder people it's about the sharida law, which has really rough punishments, like hanging and beheading.

  • @ljlassi

"that taliban support locals by building roads"

No. That would be the Coalition. When did the taleban ever constructed something in Afghanistan, huh ?

Roads ? They rather plant IEDs in it. They've just used building that had been already built before them, that's all.

  • @Briselance Sorry dude, but u seem not to know very much about the situation. The coalition is indeed having some useful projects, but the Afghan government is really corrupted and treats people like shit. Taleban are not just some boys gone insane, they are mainly people trying to improve their living and bring islam. The locals are supporting talebans only cause they get better treatment from them than from the government. The way we are doing this we are only keeping the war alive.

  • @ljlassi

"but the Afghan government is really corrupted and treats people like shit."

Alas, this is all too right.

The Coalition can't do much about this, only the Afghans can.

"The way we are doing this we are only keeping the war alive."

Looks like , yeah. But there are reasons not to completely despair, i.e. the Coalition actions in terms of construction (roads, schools, universities equipped with top notch internet transmission, etc.) and cooperation with Afghanistan (security forces)

  • @Briselance Yeah coalition has good projects indeed, but one problem is that they are concentrated on population centers and taleban gets its support from the countryside. Also u have to note that Afghan government is not only corrupted government. US usually gives jobs to private companies which are going for maximum profit, of course and US doesn't monitor these projects enough close, which too often leads to a half-completed project and loss of government funds.

  • 0:14 the narrator said "shoebox" instead of "showbox"

  • 240p ftw :D So happy they have this video <3 it! my fav all time movie.

  • beautiful, that scene where he takes out his shoes T_T

  • who ever reads this and is wondering how good the movie is...?

YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT! trust me!!! it is like "saving private ryan" ..

such a awesome movie that is sad and display how hard/cruel wars can be.

  • lololol - i see jaejoong at 3:00

  • It's rare to learn quality value like this from a film.

  • @coffeemon5ter The problem here, US always intervene not helping. For example: when da tsunami in Indonesia happened. Why US only go help after so many people asked, "why we don see any US army here?" when all great countries already started. Why when war is involves, US army is the 1st country to take part. Like now, South n North Korea seem like starting to hv war. Do u saw any country try to intervene xcept for US?

  • @mqintach The US military was already there in South Korea too as part of the 1953 mutual defense treaty. That's why South Korea paid the US to have their bases stationed. The US has been in South Korea since the ceasefire agreement in 1953 and had been practicing military drills since. Beside we don't like when US military left, NV invaded South Vietnam and they successfully did because the US pull out. Get your fact straights.

  • @Hperman09 That is what am talkin about, If there's a war, there's Us army. Us military loved to involved participate and make agreement to so many countries in the world. I know that communist is bad, terrorism is bad n sure it is good to help fighting evil, but Ironically, US army was always there when it comes to War n Us will b the 1st one to b there, Why it almost never happens when it comes to rescue mission. That is why I think US is da real terrorist here

  • @mqintach rescue missions??what do you think somalia, bosnia ,haiti, and kuwait were?just america saying fuck it go for it??? its you who has it wrong in your silly media.america tries to help those who cant effectively do it for themselves.its not america's fault the the people we often help just cant get shit right.

  • @coffeemon5ter i am pretty sure ever1 just hates the u.s

  • ahh, Won Bin is so good in this!

  • Why can't we just get along guys =] Are you going to be fucktards when aliens come and anal probe your ass?

  • @coffeemon5ter aint that the truth........

  • Thanks to MacArthur and his big ego, he's the reason why Korea got separated, had cost so many US and SK troops lives and prolong the war even longer. He was warned by Americans politicians and Chinese alike that China will intervene if they came any closer, but he went on northward unprepared, thinking only the remnants of NK would be left to fight. He was wrong, and Chinese and NK forces countered. If MacArthur had listened then Korea would be united.

  • @Hperman09 you don't know what your talking about. He wanted to take the war all the way into china.....Had he been given the permission to do so, we wouldn't have this divided korean issue right now...Gen MacArthur is one of the greatest generals ever.

  • @kishaba1980 What i'm saying both China and Macarthur are at fault. I believe China should not intervene but Macarthur should have listened too. And taking all the way with china by bombing them with nukes? Come on that's crazy. If US used it on china then Russia would hesitate to launch their nuke against north america and our troops in korea. It would led to WW3.

  • @Hperman09

What are you talking about? Korea got separated before 1950.

How would Korea be united "if MacArthur had listened"?

  • @ohdaysoo I know Korea was separated before 1950. Reread my comment. Both China and Macarthur was at fault. If he listened then china would not probably intervene but i blame china for trying to help out NK.

  • @Hperman09 No, after the allies pushed NK back over the 38th, MacArthur asked Washington what his orders were. Then, Truman AND his advisers decided to go all the way up to the Yalu. Then, MacArthur went north. He had stopped in Seoul and asked for his orders. That is a fact.

  • @ohdaysoo No Your facts are mixed up. The UN approved stepping over the 38th trying to reunify North under democracy then China send Truman a message stating if US and SK forces cross 22 miles within Yalu river, the Chinese would intervene. Truman agreed but the military did not listen and that's what provoked china into a war.

  • @Hperman09

China also intervene because threat of America and also they wanted to help North Koreans, who aided Chinese commies in their own civil war with nationalists.

  • Man this is sad. The Korean was a "forgotten war" that Vietnam and WW2 was a popular genre to sell. The media and movie want to sell money but this film kicked ASS. There should be more Koreans films like these but sad thing is this genre is not popular as of WW2 and Vietnam.

  • You guys all talk shit now to eachother but the Brits and Americans, Canadians, Koreans, etc that fought next to eachother in World War 2 and Korea will never forget the soldiers they fought with. You all have no idea what war is.

  • I mean, America and freedom just don't mix. Look at the police state their own country has become. Land of the brave? Ehm, no. Brave people don't push buttons from Appaches 2 miles away. Brave people don't use nuclear weapons on civilian areas. Brave people don't support fascist oil bosses to become their president. America has become a nation of braindead religeous consumer drones, the armpit of the western world.

  • @diramonsky Police state? You obviously don't live in America.

  • @diramonsky Police state, you must watch to much TV. Hardly a police state. Take the City of Los Angeles over 3 million peoplee, policed by 10,000 coppers, lowest crime rate in 40 years, and 70% of the Arrestees are foreigners. Our police don't walk aroung with machine pistols, we don't give tickets for hand gestures, we can talk about the Atrocities Europeans committed on other europeans. It sound more that you are braindead, dutchboy.

  • @coffeemon5ter

When was the last time America helped anyone with their military intervention? Even in WW2 they only entered the war when they were attacked themselves. America must be the biggest military failure in history when you look at the budgets they spent at war compared to what they have to show for it in the end. Their own bankruptcy. So the answer to my question must be in 1918 when WW1 ended, almost a century ago.

  • @diramonsky The US entered WW2 after Japan attacked us, and Hitler declared war on us.

When did HOLLAND enter the war? After Hitler attacked you 5/40, and Japan attacked you 12/41.

In answer to your question, look at a satellite photo of the Korean peninsula at night. If the US had not intervened in 1950, Kim Jung-il would rule the whole country.

& oh, yes, Saddam Hussein would rule both Iraq and Kuwait.

  • @diramonsky Lets see, There was China, Lebanon, Kuwait, Columbia, Nicaragua, Wurope , Serbia, Vietnam, North Africa, USSR. Are all Dutch as stuid as you are?

  • u can suck some french dick...ahaha
