  • @EasyYetComplicated

Chill your balls, the kid didn't even know what a "lesbian" was -.-, she just wanted to be whatever her mom was stupid ass

  • @Teardropifycation ok.. thats explained everything. :D

  • the kid said ''i wanna be a lesbian!!!'' that is so inappropriate for a child to say that!

  • @EasyYetComplicated In a film about physically and mentally abusing a woman trying to work to feed her poor children and stop them from dying of starvation while trying to fund them to have a better life than she ever did by going as high up in the world and encourage them to be what you dream to be...

And you're insulted by the word lesbian?

  • @Mclovin1161 ofcos i'm not. gay are fun. :D.no offend ok.

  • Sean Bean billed in such talented AND famous company. Makes me sad in a way. The obvious but so annoying power billing(name on the poster or in trailer)has. He payed his duece, was the main antagonist in Dont say a word,The Island n National Treasure...but his name just kept sliding further n further down.Billing make or break careers, look at Gabriel Byrne or Voight. I wanted Bean to get good parts n now he is old. One day, people will regret ignoring Beans n Gleesons n all thats left are Blooms.

  • i cant name a better actress who portrays woman in these ways than charlize theron, shes beautiful and such a strong woman! sure there may be some others, but i prefer Charlize Theron over anyone!

  • Im watching this movie in my Women Studies class..and its really good

  • One of the best movies ever and one of the best actresses ever.

  • Charlize you are my inspiration especially in this film amazing job you made me cry!!!!

  • I'm standing up and my heart goes out to every woman who has done so for her sisters

  • LEGAL MALPRACTICE= the Family Law Office and the Legal Representation for Children and Youth in Alberta. These lawyers act as if they are involved in civil litigation they can not win, they rely on the information and landslide disclosure of falsified evidence gov't to support Alberta Response Model Teams traumatizing and terrorizing children. They take a collaborative stance WHILE CUT THROATS attack children. CHILDREN's SERVICES offenders SLIME the child and hope that it will never wash away.

  • @AnneFox7 See Child Youth and Family Enhancement Act in Alberta. Gov't offenders are attacking children as we speak. ARM CONTRIBUTED to the making of this act. They are it's principle authors and they helped construct it. They SAID children DON'T NEED ANY ADVOCACY. WE ARE HELPING. Then they attacked using lies stereotyping, racial HATRED and abuse along with the cynical belief that no-one would even try after they finished SLIMING children. THEY ARE ON THE SAME PAGE. the Alberta Response Model.

  • Sexual harassment ,refusal to address sexual assault and rape propganda. These attacks are a part of life in Alberta. Gov't attacks on women and children permeate the community ,schools and are reinforced by the Police. Attacks are promoted by Alberta Justice through the child witness attack laws, legal and medical malpractice, manufactured psychologist evidence. The Alberta Response Model protect their own at the cost of the children and the women. The A.R.M.is systematized GENOCIDE.

  • @AnneFox7 Corruption in Alberta by gang builder programs ( refusal of law enforcement bullying prevention intervention) in public schools & the educational systems or foster parents, child abuse by "teachers" involved in racial tracking and "TEAM" abuse. BACKLASH to prevent children of TODAY from being protected by the un-prosecuted criminals, active cover-ups to evade liability, accountability and transparency. UNADRESSED political, justice system, social workers, foster parent attacking NOW..

  • He only needs one balls

  • I fell in love with Charlize thanks to films like this

  • I love the Oasis song at the end of this clip.

    That cracked me up :D

  • this is soo inspiring, and strong!

  • @Creepingonmichelle - who's your friend? i worked on the movie.

  • i love LOVE love charlize theron she is to beautiful for words and a fighter in films

  • I've seen this movie and it is by far one of the most powerful films ever made. Being treated very badly can make you say. "That's it! I'm not putting up with anymore of those disrespectful motherfuckers!" However though not ever abused person chooses to stand up for him/herself and that's what saddens and pisses me off.

  • @Marguerite21 Yeah.

  • is that the guy from Hurt Locker?

  • @lobelia2 Yeah.

  • the little girl that said (i want to be a lesbian) is my cossin

  • I see some still can't see the forest through the trees...sigh...has nothing to do with hetero/homo...as much as many may hate it, there is a way things work. Now give the carpet a break, git back in the kitchen and make some muffins. Have a nice day :)

  • When a woman takes on an occupation that is stereotypically "male" she is branded a lesbian. Women who fought for civil rights were also branded "lesbians." And maybe some of them were. The same thing happens when a man fights to take on feminine occupations. Im convinced that gender role limitations will be abolished permanently, as soon as homophobia is erased from the minds of the people once and for all. This is why nations that have high homophobia are also extremely chauvinistic

  • @RodTalon0000 i seriously can not agree with you more and it hurts that others do not take sexism and gender roles seriously.

  • @sillykatz Thanks ;) I dont think people ever really research the stem cause of a problem... they just look at the surface.

  • @RodTalon0000 they really do, and it sort of piss's me off. i know some who don't treat is as racism, as if its not a big deal, to me they are the same! but i may be alone on that but that is really how i feel. i've gone through some of this stuff and it hurts being told no you can not do that because you are a women

  • @sillykatz Agreed. I believe that Racism, homophobia, chauvinism all have many things in common... and in turn, also have a similar reaction... millions of people who finally rise and fight back, cause their so fuckin fed up with being treated like second class... There are people within these groups however, that dont like to get involved, like in this movie. But the few who stand up and say "I wont take it anymore" those are the people who make a difference, we enjoy the fruits of their labor

  • @RodTalon0000 thank you that means a lot coming from a guy who isn't afraid to take a stand as a man, most men are afraid hell some women are too in the south

  • this movie changed my life, it taught me to stand up for myself.

  • wow i just watched this movie in class recently, what a great movie. it was a bit disturbing at times but thats reality i guess

  • one of the finest movies of my life...touching at every instance.....YOU STAND WHEN YOU ARE ALL ALONE...........

  • only thing in this movie that is true is the main plot and we are good at hockey on the iron range. the rest was just bs man. like the scene at the hippodrome, people up here dont stand in a god damn circle around and stare at someone having a dispute, we move along, dont get involved . people up here mind there goddamn buisness. stupid movie in detail. should of done research about eveleth, virginia, and gilbert before they did this

  • I saw this movie yesterday, Charlize Theron was crying the entire movie!

  • Watched it last evening, made me cry all night.

  • As a guy I don't like the movies based on the "men are pigs" statement, but I like this one. It's true and it happens. Sometimes we can be real douchbags, although I'm not like that. I hate when my friends act like female hunters with no brains, always thinking with the d..k. Ironically, a lot girls tend to like those kind of guys at first ("he's soo funny!!"). Once some guys were talking about cheating on GF and I say "I don't cheat" They were like WTF! really? Are you religious or something?

  • @carmaj156 Why the fuck are guys like us always so spread out among the populous, forced to clique up with douchebag friends instead of eachother? Same boat as you friend. 100% agree with everything you just said.lol

  • haha its weired cuz i have the DvD but i never watched it before but after seeing all the commemts people been putting i think ima watch it now lol :D

  • I can't call it masterpiece but it was really great, touching drama movie. The cast was superb. Charlize Theron, Sean Bean, Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Monaghan, Sissy Spacek and Richard Jenkins did a wonderful job.

    Great film!

  • i love his lawyer , he is just good .

  • i hate the men in the movie and think it was BS how the women were treated

  • I think some people are a little 2 faced to sexism. Now a days men are the target of sexism not women. I am not saying that in this movie the women are in the wrong, its just in 2010 its the flip side.

  • @ThatWasRuffies I would completely disagree. Women still make less than men in average wages, and there are a large number of reported and unreported sexual harassment cases (Nearly 200,000 for just young female teenagers) that never make it to court. I don't think sexism is a problem for men at all.

  • @ThatWasRuffies Hm, I'm not so sure of that... What makes you think that, if I may ask? I'm a dude, by the way. XD

  • Bar none the best movie on female empowerment ever.

As a man, I'm appalled that men behaved this way back then...and sadly many still do it now.

  • This is a damn good movie. Very Emotional. when i watched this movie, i was horrified at the abuse that the women were getting. Those men were such pigs. I can't tolerate men like that. Pisses me off.

  • Best movie ever.... It made me cried :(

  • i'm gonna watch this movie(although it's too late haha)..hope this gonna be interesting as the trailer implies..

  • I live in minnesota.I love it here.

  • I thought this movie was going to be great....

and I was right for the first moment AHAHAHA I loved it.!

  • The real Lois Jenson totally went over the edge because of the law suit, poor thing. Charlize seems to be presenting her as far more put-together.

  • I saw on tv

  • #1. Charlize Theron is the master of accents and dialect. She was perfectly convincing as a mid-westerner with that accent.

#2. Sissy Spacek, Sean Bean, and Woody all deserved supporting actor/actress Oscar noms. for their roles.

#3. This movie, the Constant Gardener, and Crash were the only movies worth watching in 2005. I watched more movies than that, but, going back, those 3 movies are all you need for a good movie year.

  • funny thing being that half of those buildings in the Minneapolis skyline were not built until the late '90s early '00s

  • its like a feminist version of 'A Few Good Men' with a lot more depth into the main character though.

  • what is the name of the song playing at the end??

  • Comment removed

  • The song is part of the queue performed by oasis.

  • Comment removed

  • whats the name of the song in the trailer?

  • trying to find that out myself

  • It looks like a very good movie!

  • its really is good movie u should definetely watch it.

    GRAZIE :-)

  • bello ma.. molto triste..

  • best movie ever seen and i m damn sure i won't see any movie like this in my future

  • I agree!

  • last court scene is grt

  • This movie was amazing! One of Ms Theron's most powerful roles ever! I'm glad they sued those assholes! It's sad but it has a great plot!

  • Love this movie so much! One of the best movies I´ve ever seen!!

  • I've seen this movie once, and this is my honest opinion: This was the most powerful dramas I've ever seen in my life! Those poor women went through lots of hell, because of their sexist, perverted bastard co-workers. I'm glad that Charlize Theron's character fought back and sued those assholes. What a girl! Changed my life since the movie, "Philadelphia".

  • charlize is like the female version of johnny depp, she can do it all no matter role she plays.

  • thatz very good ^^

  • @skaterskagg1 maybe THATS why the astronaut's wife is one of my favorite movies. charlize and johnny!! bingo! jackpot! haha. they're both in my favorite actors list

  • @skaterskagg1 I don't agree. Even though, Theron is a very good actress, she definitely doesn't have the range that Johnny Depp has. She never has does anything diverse such as "Pirates of the Carribean', "Donnie Brasco", "Ed Wood", "Sweeney Todd", "Edward Scissorhands" or "Finding Neverland"

  • @johanlefourbe she has done plenty of comedies before and after her oscar sorry do your research. She is one of the most versatile actors around. She has comedies, dramas, action films and more under her belt and does them all EQUALLY convincingly.

  • This movie is awesome, very touching, definitely one of the most powerful movies I've seen:)

  • :23 sounds like sarah palin

  • i have this movie and i LOVE it!

i think its so powerful when she says

"Whether you win or lose, You stand up!"

She just wanted to make a living.. but instead she made history

  • I love it when chalize smiles.. Shes got the best smile in the world! Also, this movie's touching ^^; I'll think twice before i make jokes about women from now on!

  • This is one of my favourite movies. I love Chalize Theron's dedication.!

Listen: Anyone knows what's the name of the song that starts at 55s and ends at 1:36s??

    It's not Oasis song!

Please help to know, it's important because I'm hearing this song since 2005, and I can't find it.

It's also in "Shattered Glass" trailer and in "The life before her eyes" trailer too.

  • its Part of the Queue

  • not it's not. I have that song since 2005.

it's the song that starts at 48 seconds and ends at 1:37.

  • its probably just and instermental for the movie its probably not a real song

  • that's what I thought but the music is also in the trailers of "Shattered Glass" and "The Life before her eyes"...

  • if its from the same company. im not sure. my best guess is that its a instrumental

  • Stand up and be counted

  • best movie ever!! my cousin is in this movie too!! (the hockey scene) and we're from the iron range.. love it! but the movie is sad.. but inspiring

  • Oasis. Song's called "Part of the Queue," off their album Don't Believe the Truth.

  • It's only a song by one of the greatest bands ever... Oasis. Song's called "Part of the Queue," off their album Don't Believe the Truth.

  • Excellent movie. You really feel for Charlize Theron because she is truly alone in her fight against the mining company. And that scene where the guys topple the portajohn with the girl in it really disturbed me. Best part: at the end of the movie, they play Bob Dylan's "Sweetheart Like You" (he's from Minnesota, where the film takes place!).

  • i live in minnesota and i've been to his house! Minnesota is the best place to live!!! he lived in Hibbing.. on the iron range

  • At 1:01, that's my friend Mark. Truth. I've known the kid since I was eight.

  • dude no way my freind cam is in this movie...he checks that one kid in the hockey game..then you see him in another scene to tho i cant remember...are you from around there?

  • somebody knows what is the last song title?

    thanks!

  • Oasis - Part of the queue
