  • The great part is that Johnny was such a pro, he never lost track of where he was in the opening spiel. As soon as she comes up, he picks right up where he left off.

  • OMG this is hilarious

  • @111knucklehead

i'm not german so there was no need for your stupid remark.

  • Gotta love how impatient Johnny sounded when the logo was in small.

  • Her audio was not in sync did anyone else notice that or maybe it is just me!

  • "page will you take her to jail please" lol

  • Classic Bob Barker humor and reaction on his face.

  • Fail...

  • Camera guy: "WHERE IS SHE?"

  • lol, this should be on failblog. how can you forget your own name?

  • what date is that?

  • 1983

  • 1983 what.

  • The year 1983. What month or day it was, I don't know.

  • The OAD was January 10, 1984.

  • that dumb broad

  • the reason Susan failed to "come on down" straight away was due to fact she was using the surname of her future hubby (Dupont) instead of her own surname (Derbeck)

  • u would still think she would recognize Susan Derbeck

  • Can you imagine Bob Barker forgetting his name, lol

  • More than you think. When you reply to the trolls, you ecourage them to continue posting this "RIP Barker" crap. When you ignore them, they get bored and go away. Think of the troll as the class clown who feeds off of laughs.

  • LMAO DAT WAS FUNNY...

  • Agreed, why do people always do this?

  • lol, what a nimrod she was!

  • well not really...did you listen when she explained why she didn't come on down?

  • She still should have recognized her own MAIDEN name, for crying out loud. Her explanation doesn't hold much water.

  • what was her reason for not "come on down"?,thanks

  • Watch all of the video and you'll find out.

  • Good 'ol Bob! I like when the doors open and he is usually there ready to come on out. But this time when they opened no one was there. He thought I can do the same thing too. Thanks for posting this!!

  • Bob must've been thinking, "Well, two can play at this game!", during his intro. LOL!

I saw the original CBS broadcast on January 10, 1984, the day before my 13th birthday, when I stayed at home from school with a cold, and was very impatient for Susan, and sorry for Johnny repeating her name!

  • Did they still use MARK GOODSON - BILL TODMAN PRODUCTION at the end or was it MARK GOODSON at the end?

  • It was Mark Goodson-Bill Todman. The change named around April 9, 1984. This incident occurred January 10, 1984.

  • When did The Price is Right starting using MGHS hour theme for its cars and SUPERBALL? Around this time?

  • I want to see an opening from the 80's in which the doors opened for Bob and no one was there!

  • lol ty for posting this 5/5

  • that was sooooooooooo funny

  • Thats illegal take her jail. LOL BOB STILL HAD IT!

  • THat must have been really awkward for viewers, with Susan missing and the tiny logo.

  • bob barker come on down!

  • I guess he figured, "I'm tired of waiting... I'll just sit on down until they're ready"

  • haha... wonder where she is now? I hope she did marry the guy at least. haha...

This is one of my favorite TPIR opening clips.

2nd favorite is when Bob is kissing Dian LOL.

3rd is when the doors didn't want to open for Bob, but he did squeeze through them.. haha.

I would love to see the April Fool's opening.

  • CLASSIC

  • hilarious

  • This same thing happened in the 90s with a "Nicole" - it used to be up on YouTube but has since been taken down.
