BoC tends to re-use samples even from way back to keep it fresh. I really don't doubt these tapes were made by them. They were probably just some B-Sides that got remade or scrapped because they didn't fit with the album. I wouldn't even doubt that BoC may have leaked it themselves.

Amazing tracks like these should be given a full digital release. I'd pay money for these early tracks - BoC are missing out on royalties from early tracks being thrown around, mislabeled often and poor quality that are misrepresenting them. Do the right thing and get these onto Bleep for download.

@Nickgreek123 I agree with you. It's unfortunate, sometimes I feel like BOC themselves don't realize that they have a large and dedicated fan-base. I dunno, you would think they would be so much more active in general. I don't hear about side projects with either of those guys so what could they be doing? I always hope for a new album but it's been how long now? They should make these tracks an official re-release until the new album is completed.

ya gotta wonder if the few old tunes album was actually BOC's music. they havent confirmed that it is theirs. then again they havent denied it either. some are saying they are fake. anyone else have an input on this?

This release in particular is real, as there have been instances that people have come across the original copies, but as for any of their other material (Such as the untitled BoC Audiotrack videos I posted), I don't know. There's not much evidence for or against except for the stylistic quality...

@VideoKiwi2008 There's something about this piece that has their stamp all over it: the chord sequence and that warm slightly drunk-sounding synth that plays the chords... these are hallmarks you can also hear in numerous places on Music Has The Right To Children. They capture a sense of nostalgia somehow and they do it in a very particular style.

@VideoKiwi2008 the "acid memories" release is fake but "a few old tracks" showcases many obvious early versions of later tracks (and great tracks in their own right) .... so if it's not BOC, then it's some band from a parallel universe that has every bit has much talent (my take would be against the alternate universe solution, and more toward the legit tracks one.) Point is: either way, there are a lot of great tracks to find there - and a few more tentative and passable ones.
