  • oh my god. SO MUCH LOVE.

  • Both versions of this are off the hook. I can't remember a song where I've loved both versions equally. Could listen to each 100x a day.

  • thank you for this beautiful recommendation, youtube.

  • It's Nick who's playing the violin? Whoa.

  • patience, shadow with all your sight there's no sight to see...little shadow

  • i fell in love..

  • Wow, beatuifull song!

  • i love karen o

  • This is a lovely version of the song, but the original has the tempo and strain that wakes up your soul.

  • This version is amazing! It really is wonderful, but it lacks the sheer emotional connection the original has. I am more engaged and connected with the original.

  • The dislike rating better stay at 0.

  • i compare this to my little nephew he'd follow my brother to the end of the earth and back its such a cute song i love it

  • Fun fact: Nick Zinner is the son of a classically trained pianist and Harvard medical professor. Also Zinner was a prodigy violinist as a child.

  • Thank you very much for that fun fact.

  • @SuddenSymphony Nick Zinner just became 12 times more baddass.

  • I love this. The original is slow and mellower, unique in it's own way. I LOVE THIS

  • Does anyone know who's playing the violin here? Nick? :-)

  • she has such a soft voice.

    I love the violin <3

  • I love this version, it's better than the original.

  • what a lovely song,

i think it would fit nicely in the new film

    "where the wild things are"

    can't wait for that film,

and yeah yeah yeahs are brilliant !

  • my fav song of the week.. simple, yet beautifull.

  • cool! another version! it's like the fun happy perky version

  • download link?????? love this song :)

  • it sounds like when lou reed went and added some strings. except with Karen O. singing....goodness

  • i like almost like this more than the original... it's simply beautiful

  • @LinKoneko yeah i agree i think it depends on your mood tbqh

  • This is a beautiful version of the song the strings and keys reminiscent of "journey don't stop believin" funily enough

  • i like it

  • yeah maybe mozart at 12.

  • I don't think it does really. There's no overly dramatic lyricism (actually quite the opposite), prominent but simplistic drumming (no drums at all), vocal harmonies, or Chris Martin singing like a douche.

I'll give you the string instruments though.

  • I agree that it doesn't really sound like Viva La Vida, (totally different arrangements and instruments and such) but there's no reason to put down another band or singer in the process. I hardly think they were comparing their vocal capabilities or style.

  • It actually doesnt sound anything like Viva La Vida. Viva La Vida has more heavy strings, where this has not nearly as much. And Karen O doesnt sound like the guy from Coldplay either...

Oh, and the lyrics are totally differant

Plus, Viva La Vida isn't a bad song! Its great!!!
