To me, The Iphone will always be an upgraded Ipod Touch. I hate the idea and more or less everything about it. Want an Iphone? go buy an Ipod touch. Cheaper and you could also get a much better phone and still have money left over. I'm getting the HTC Hero, or T-mobile G2 Touch as it is called with T-mobile.
If apple wants more people to get an Iphone then they should stop giving their products tiny updates and stop making them shiny. Make something different and worth buying.

well we can say that Hero is almost as good as iPhone. Many phones are almost as good as iPhone. But no one is better.. yet! HTC HD2 is veery close , but it's just not there. Google Nexus is almost as good too. But the 1GHz snapdragon in the new phones hasn't really showed it's true power yet. How can almost a half year old phone with 600MHz be better than a phone with 1GHz? That doesn't make any sence to me, Apple is VERY good at making mobile phones. That's a fact, but so is HTC! :)

Yeah you're right. Everyone has an opinion. For me it's very important to have a good browser exprience, which both of the phones have. But the iPhone gets the edge. But Hero is not far behind because it's quite smooth and it's got FLASH support! That's something I miss so much in my iPhone...
The design is very important too ofcource. And I love the way Apple did the iPhone 3G and 3GS . + I think it's very user frendly. But Hero is that too.
