They are gentle and loving with there family, but become excessively ferocious when there family.. or flock (sheep), is threatened and come in hard! @Garenny well I'm not a biologist, but from what I've heard human muscles are designed in a way that is inferior to wild animals. Muscle size isn't all that matters. On top of that, our bodies were designed to walk on all fours, but we evolved to walk on two feet. There's kind of a design flaw there. I fear that a german shepherd (my favourite dog) doesn't stand even half a chance against a raging chimpanzee. Chimpanzees are about 6 or 7 times as strong as a human being. He might get bitten, but the chimpanzee would tear the dog apart.

They are gentle and loving with there family, but become excessively ferocious when there family.. or flock (sheep), is threatened and come in hard! I'm not familiar with the difference between American and English bulldogs. I mean the ones that are notorious here in America for mauling people. It sounds like you are picturing a small circus chimp. "...male Chimpanzees typically grow up to 5.5' (1.2m) tall and weigh up to 198 lbs". I don't deny that many dogs would attack a chimp, but I doubt any would win. Here's an interesting compromise (though it doesn't pit chimps against dogs): Google "chimpanzee strength" and look at the first one.

@Garenny well I'm not a biologist, but from what I've heard human muscles are designed in a way that is inferior to wild animals. Muscle size isn't all that matters. On top of that, our bodies were designed to walk on all fours, but we evolved to walk on two feet. There's kind of a design flaw there. Also humans have grown larger over time, although yeah, we were way more active and way more accustomed to defending ourselves.

@patrioticheart there is no chimp that is 6 ft tall and 270. a gorill ais 6 ft and 350. chimps are 5 8 at the most and 180, however all in the upper body. the way to dominate by brute force is with our legs, which are much more powerful than a chimps legs and arms. the 10 times stronger rule is nonsense. a heavy weight boxer easily lifts 600 pounds. no chimp lifts 6000. chimp>arm strength, but no chance against the tree like legs of a big human (nordic german, or african male).

I know from experience German shepherds are very protective of there owners, and it was proven they have a harder bite than a Pitbull, plus, they are a dog that was developed to defend its herd against predators,, but the chimp is a freak too. It prevents most fatal attacks and cushens blows.
So now days i wouldnt be suprised if canines hunting dangerous game like a chimp come in looking like a gladiators.

Bullshit! A world-class strength athlete would be proud to achieve an 800 pound press x 10, because that would mean their 1RM would be in the neighbourhood of 1066 pounds. That's on a par with world record presses. You're trying to tell us you can press what world-class strength athletes aspire to, yet you don't even train for it?

@1sowild bro i love dogs but a chimp would tear a german shepherd apart very easily it would be a sad sight, and your right the worlds strongest man has no chance against a full grown chimp. not even a prime mike tyson has a chance. a chimp expert once said, a full grown chimp can toss a grown man in midair with little effort.

@hulk90000 I def hear you and am not trying to make a big debate about this, i would never want my dog fighting a chimp because even if it wins, it would be hurt and prob have diseases. I guess i am looking at the German shepherd is not only a police dog taking on criminals, but also a livestock guardian dog that will take on predators to defend its herd, and have seen that breed do amazing things, and when protecting there owner, they become increasingly driven! I think it could be a toss up
