  • esto no es una batalla, lo comparten muy bien ---

  • this is seriously the hardest question of all time. this question cuases wars to start

  • SEARCH FOR SERGIO GROOVE,PEOPLE

    ANOTHER BEAST from our days

  • it's like they're aren't even trying!!hahaha

  • what a dream trio. clarke, miller, wooten. all heavy weights.

  • q dupla ein

  • these cats are tough

  • 4 strings fro life, woooooooop

  • What song is this???

  • I just finished a workshop with Victor Wooten today.....this is less a battle than a collaboration....Stanley Clarke plays 3 notes throughout this clip, allowing the "youngsters" to play around with everything else. Purely Masterful by all!!

  • is this by any chance a song?

  • Many people don't know Marcus Miller's history. He his written many songs for famous singers such as Luther Vandross and Miles Davis.

  • @farsights I know that this is a mistake, but I can't resist being a little kid and saying it. Miles Davis was not a singer! Thank you.

  • yeah right!!! is this a joke lol

  • Victor Wooten The Best

  • muito PAIA

  • Nacin sporazumijevanja dva isusa

  • This is how they talk too one another ha Marcus Miller is way better

  • they are black. they where simply born to play bass like that.

sometimes i wish i was black...

  • lol, the drummer looks like Steve harvey

  • The best bassist there is Stanley Clarke since he also plays upright very well. The best bass guitarist is Victor Wooten. And the best musician is Marcus Miller since he play instruments outside of the string family.

  • damn, black peoples PRO when it comes to music

  • When these three play together, the world sits down and listens. And no damn hater dares to raise its petty voice, lest he be obliterated by pure musical awesomeness.

  • This is art....,lol

  • Heard them i Stockholm 2009! Good stuff!

  • wow it's sooooo hard to play bass, lol

  • I wouldn't say that either one is better than the other. As far as I'm concerned they are both amazing bass players who I aspire to play like. They have different styles, and I love both. They're phenomenal.

  • I MET MARCUS MILLER BEFORE!!! HE'S SUCH AN AMAZING PERSON AND BASSIST!

  • Come on SMV, PLEASE release a DVD!!!!!!!

  • I'm getting dizzy and confused watching the camera go back and forth and I cant seem to hear which is playing, they sound the same as far as sound quality.

  • this is like comparing steve vai to b.b. king. steve vai can shred your face off with a 12 neck guitar behind his back during sex, but does his music have any feeling or emotion? there's a big difference between the people who do things really fast or really weird and those who know how to make beautiful music, slow or fast.

  • @joshcaprai you're right there is a difference but when looking at a guitar player like micheal keene or tosin abasi who play really fast as you would describe they have a way of really conveying an incredible feeling that isn't necessarily "nice". But, wihtout artists like b.b king there would be none of the modern artists who take music to a differen level today.

  • MARCUUUUUSSSS!!!

  • victor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Marcus got way better style than wooten, but they both sound awesome!

  • @EvenHummROCKS dont totally agree, but yes, together their awesome

  • @bassextremes22 id say victor wooten has they most skill and best technique ive ever heard out of any bassist but his stuff isnt always the best sounding or the prettiest to listen to while marcus millers basslines are a lot nicer to listen to

  • @mrvictorwootenhmslf I dont know i think victors lines are pretty fun to sit back and listen to

  • that was slap-terrible!

  • Looks like they're having a good time.

  • they surely did

  • bass guitar battle you dick

  • my dick what? D:

  • Vail Johnson and Victor Wooten would be more entertaining !!!!

  • none Know -.-

  • como se llama ese tema de musica ?

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • @DarckJhonax as the name of that theme music?

  • this is a good note musical serious O.o like this are the bestest

  • @GatoradeIsNotJuice

See, it's people like you that give your average American a bad name. If you checked you'd realize that 'arse' is the proper spelling for that word and that 'ass' is nothing but an American transliteration (pardon me, that word doesn't exist either).

Anyway, the whole I kick your arse thing was for all intents and purposes to show you that I can play, and to try in vain to show you that you can have a good melodic solo without the obvious fireworks, i.e. slap-arama...

  • i think it's more solo then battle. amazing!

  • Marcus' tone is the most amazing thing...second to his style!

  • why are people always arguing? why cant we just respect the music that these 2 great bassists play, instead insulting other people.

  • que maestros!!!!!!!

  • Que bakano....Bravo por estos dos grandes maestros del bajo.

  • On the double bass is victor wootens brother (the very man who got him into playing)

  • @foostufoo thats stanley clark DUH

  • it's stanley clarke you fucking moron

  • isnt it awesome to play with 2 of your hero's (Victor Wooten) and if not so, maybe better in my opinion.

  • isnt it a bit ironic that they have 2 bass guitarists being backed up by a double bassist?

  • @bobulibobium Not really ironic. The POINT of SMV is to have the (arguably) three best bassists alive today in one "supergroup". Great music; they blend great together.

  • I think his comment was meant as a joke lol. There are two bassist being backed by a "double" bassist.

  • @kingpin191 Ahhhhh! I get it. Haha. I feel stupid now xD

  • lol no big deal, we all have our moments ;)

  • amaizing!

I want high quality of this

  • haha 1:02 i love how marcus looks at vic like "damn he's going faster than me!!"

    both bass gods!

  • i also play bass and that shit is boring

  • you must fuccn suck lmfao

  • suck yo moms tits!

  • I'm a bass player and I too find it fuckin boring.

  • you must suck balls too haha

im a bass player and i do more talking than a guitar player

learn how to play it well biiiiitch or dont play at all

  • @ka24love

Well dumbarse, check out "Bass solo Rodrigo Aravena" here on youtube and then tell me that I can't play.

  • ya you suck~_~

  • @ Carehuea: why would you post that.. now everyone knows you suck badly at bass..

  • @ GatoradeIsNotJuice

I may suck but at least I kick your arse, ha ha ha...

  • Carehuea:

wtf are you 12 years old? telling me you could kick my ass on youtube? and cant even spell ass right? get a life

  • But then again,

why do I bother with people like you who can't tell the difference between Wayne Shorter and Kenny G (other than Kenny g usually plays faster than Wayne, therefore he kicks his arse).

  • @Carehuea

    you are shit.

  • I find that extremely boring...

  • what's your music? the killers?

  • @sebas1111 No no, i like Wooten and Miller a lot, but not this video.. Look my channel to know what is my music.

  • AMEN!!!

now ur music is my music

    Steve vai is AMAZING!

  • @JoeSatriani879 Thank you ^^ you made the right choice xD

  • Marcus cornered Vic into a pocket there. Truly amazing musicianship on both parts!

  • This doesnt look like a battle to me....But definitely sick.

  • there both good, i think victor wooten is a better bassist but Marcus miller is a better musician, liked the battle it sounded great

  • stanley clarke is the guy standing playing the double bass??

  • the fodera sound

  • AMAZING!!!!!

  • how come he didnt mention stanley clarke.

  • @bassisallmusic because he isnt in the battle

  • @bassisallmusic Stanley who?

  • amazing how they can take one note and make it so awesome sounding

  • I wouldn't call it a battle, and how about mentioning Stanley Clarke? Great video.

  • man, victor Wooten and Marcus miller are awesome

    those are my favorite

  • Victor wwooten, el bajista màs completo de la historia!!

    saludos desde Uruguay..

  • you should get a better camera

  • Three fantastic bassists man.

  • miller has a nicer sound

  • he has a different bass

  • thats because he's using a fender!!!!!!

  • but it's not a fender jazz bass wich is a passive bass;it is a marcus miller fender jazz bass wich is an active bass

  • techniacally its both, it has passive and active electronics in it. I

  • I guess Miller's sound is more punchy and fat, with the mids scooped. Victor's is more twangy with more mids?

  • definetly.

marcus eqoulization looks more like a V (bass and treeble up, mids scooped) victor is a bit more mids...

    like both sounds a lot.

    greetings from hamburg, germany ;-)

  • victor is doing the same face of abraham laboriel evreybudy wants be abe laboriel!!!

  • ga ngerti becandaan ya mas? gw juga seneng ama vic wooten, lah gw juga pemain bass. knapa lo yang marah2?

  • Wooten (L) best and fast

  • budi anduk

  • bodoh!!budi anduk gak bisa maen bass!!!stupid!!!

for all youtubers..this guy Malesmandi is mocking vic wooten because vic wooten's face looked alike with some stupid comedian who can't even play a bass in Indonesia..let's give him a poor comment rate as i already did..

  • Anyone else notice that in every one of these videos captured on camera phone or camcorder and what not, Victor always manages to seem to be staring right into the cam at some point? o.o

  • He left his pick up cover on because he thought Jermain Jackson's bass looked cool with the pick up cover and he has just gotten used to playing with it on....

  • This NOT A BATTLE YO!!!! THIS is Conversation!!!! hahah

  • hell this is like Shakespearean dialogue, to be or not to the greatest bassists in the world...i saw them in NYC cept the battles were wooten and clarke.

  • Macakisse aguda

  • Derico got it locked up on drums!!! Vic is the cat...........

  • haha victor looks like a kid when they start playing that same note together.

  • love all three of them. Is marcus playing without the pick-up cover? wierd

  • i think his playin his signature series produced in amerika without the cover

  • The MM sig model is actually crafted in Japan. Great bass.

Marcus prefers to use the pickup cover as a guide to where his thumb should be..at least that's what it says on his site.

  • i know i own one,but this is the American version

  • I don't think anyone wants to be limited to just playing with a pickup cover, I imagine that is would be more comfortable with the cover on, but I mute with the rest of my hand. I think I'd prefer to play without one myself

  • damn, that was an awesome as fuck groove at the begining

    love both of them
