  • 2 of my favorite songs put into 1. whatt???

  • Hey, 12,424 here ....What's up .....I Love this music......this band rocks w/ Great lyrics

  • its almost exactly like Dont Drink the Water except for the lyrics

  • It's like a combo of Bartender and DDTW

  • mixed version of dont drink the water and bartender..

    dont u think?

  • @Harelgur ..he's done it before; Satellite derived from After Her... loved Satellite but I am even more crazy about After Her!

  • does anyone know the date of this recording?

  • @hagforz at the bottom of the album on the picture it says oct 27, 2006 Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas, NV

  • @KnoccAniggaOut60 That's not the date of this recording. Dave played this during D&T shows in the late 90's.

  • The guitar parts of DDTW and Bartender are both a little similar (I play both of them) and are both in drop D tuning as people have said. And this was the early version of DDTW. jbdmb is right that it turned into "leave me praying" then that turned into DDTW.

Its awesome to see how DMB songs develop...even from studio to live. They never cease to amaze me :)

  • dave later turns it into the song Leave Me Praying and that later became Don't Drink the Water

  • I hate those idiots who yell at Dave

  • @welc427 hey tthats me i fucked up sorry

  • @welc427 me too

  • its definitely most like bartender, interesting song.

  • From a guitar standpoint, it's more similar to Bartender. At about 2:10 he plays the chorus to what is now Bartender exactly like he still does, only with the singing in the tune of DDTW. At least that's what it sounds like to me.

  • "weight of the world" turned into "leave me praying" which turned into "dont drink the water"

  • @jbdmb ~ So marvelous.. 3 songs in one;)

  • i know it sounds just like DDTW

    and all that.

but, notice in the dave and tim live at radio city.

during dnt drink the water he throws in " this land it your land"

    and he does here too

  • the strumming is like bartender, but then the singing is like ddtw.

    peace

  • DDTW, Bartender, and this one are all in drop D. That's why they sound so alike. They are all amazing songs. Dave Matthews Band!!!!!!

  • that and the fact that ddtw has the same exact chord progression

  • True, but I was mainly referring to all the people who say it sounds like bartender also :) This is basically early DDTW, indeed. Especially that part "Yes I will call this hoooome" from ddtw, it's the same, exactly.

  • Sounds like an early version of DDTW!

    Yeah, I love it!

  • Agreed.

  • how can i get this on a cd?

  • It definely sounds a little like Bartender, but DDTW ? All I know is it sounds like another great tune from DM.

  • Certainly more than a little bit of bartender in the guitar of this one. I do hear the LMP and the vocals are absolutley a precursor to DDTW. It's amazing to see the eptimology of several songs through just this one rare post. Thanks again fan1026

  • definitely bartender in there

  • Cool! Never heard this. It is the exact chords from 'DDTW' Just different words..

  • like the song... thanks for posting it, this is the first time i have heard this one!! DMB 4 LIFE

  • sounds like a combination of bartender and don't drink the water. I think this eventually turned into Leave Me Praying, theb DDTW in the BTCS studios
