Dan got a bum deal- There's no way to attach a pad on Nick's stump, and it was agreed before the fight that he wouldn't strike with it. Well you can clearly see in the video that he did strike with it, and it opened up a gash over Dan's eye that bled too much and stopped the fight. Might've been outmatched in ground skills anyway, but still wasn't fair IMO.
@crock112 I definitely don't know the details of the fight, but I know that gloves in MMA are not for the protection of your opponent, so I don't see why this would be a problem. Seems like it would be essentially the same thing as a forearm strike. But if they made a gentleman's agreement that it wouldn't be used, then that's lame as all hell.
