I really enjoyed this movie when I watched it. Some people made me think if it's really so easy to refuse racism. Now I start to think it's not. Derek never wanted this, his dad brainwashed Derek at the breakfast table by lots of nonsense. Derek thought maybe he wasn't good enough in his dads eyes. It has all to do with a bad background in my opinion. It's, as I said before, all about examples. Children doesn't learn from what a grown says, he learns of their behaviours and acts. Still, there is exceptions (in this case friends with bad habits), they will probably pull the child into bad things and eventually it will evelove into something bigger.
