Holy crap do I ever remember that! When I went as a kid (probably 1972-3) we had people crowding that L.E.M. sim - most of us just flicking buttons to see what they'd do rather than trying to do anything in response to The Voice.
@WolfBrat To me, that visit to OSC was literally *yesterday*. We walked in - all the glass doors had the three coloured ball Ontario Science Center logo - you walked in the first gallery and looked up to your left, and on the wall, as though the wall was the surface of a lake, was a nicely polished hydrofoil race boat. Walking onward you hit up all the other galleries, but my brother and I were most fascinated by the Laser exhibit, and, of course, Apollo -- having watched the landings.
Went back to Toronto recently to work on "The Incredible Hulk" movie and wanted to hit up the Science Centre to see how much has changed -- but after reading some comments here and many, many, many other places elsewhere on the web -- I'm rather glad I couldn't make the time.
Props to you guys currently working there - and hopefully you can inspire current generations of kids the way my visit inspired me when I was a brat in 1972-73. *Nothing* is more important.
yea, sadly. Also the technology hall was a sad removal for the WFIC. Do you work for the center? oh, btw, do you have any old videos or pictures of the technology hall that u wish to put on youtube as a video or send over to me? I really miss the hall and i wanna show my brother how the WFIC was like before its massive transformation! thanks!
yes. i am the video person at the Science Centre. also on YouTube as videochick770. right now i am pulling footage for an anniversary clip...1969,1989,2009...i should have it up later today.
awsome! how long have you worked for them? must be pretty cool to work for the center! Do you work everyday? looking forward for that anniversary video. and thanks for subscribing!
I agree, the Technology hall was one of the best parts, it was very cool. I think it inspired my fascination with machines and technology. I also seek pictures of the lost Technology hall, infact I had one I found on flickr but i seem to have lost it :(
Also..wow..thanks to whomever for putting this up. Sooooo cool.
