@SlimCucumber69 the movements just seem unrealistically slow. I'd rather they speed up how he runs, but have him proportionally cover less ground so there isn't an unfair advantage. He seems a little clunky.
@YourDarkAffected to be honest i dont think they move slow.. it looks slow if his legs start doing "moon walk" you know.. when his paw is on the ground.. the paw just slips from the ground but he dont move the same speed towards the ground.. really hard to explain with my english but i hope you get the idea i mean

@Blaze90i From what I read from various forums, the team from GW2 bout a lot of old Graphics cards and tested GW2 on it and apparently it worked fine. And those graphics cards they've tested it on aren't available in stores anymore because it's outdated, so I'm pretty sure it can run. But then again, we can just wait for GW2 to come out and check out the specs
Very nice. The quality of the game looks really good. The combat is about what I expect it to be but with a little more flavor. The approach this game has looks really good too. This is definitely something I plan on getting when I'm done playing the old republic and paying those god awful subscription fees.

You're continiously engaged in the world. You're also injured in this game which is rare. I don't really get it.. you automatically get different weapons and you don't need to get weapons from quests, mobs etc? And you don't need any gear to PvP since you automatically get everything there, what's PvE like, do you get any rewards, and are there any PvP rewards?
@omicida4991 you get a basic set of gear, a player that has completed pve will have much better gear in the pvp zone. Well that was how the 1st one was. This is not wow remember.
@omicida4991 not exactly - their idea is that pvp should be totally balanced gear-wise, not "you have this much resilience, therefore everyone does this much less damage against you even though you're more ALSO more skillful than them"
instead, everyone gets a basic equal set of pvp gear ONLY IN PVP (just all your stats are equalised so it's totally skillbased, not gear)
PvE is just like anything else, you get your own gear and such

@omicida4991 ah good question, I just remembered now something I watched earlier - this is all what they called structured PVP, ie, Arenas etc. there is also UNstructured PVP where YOUR gear is counted. maybe low-end pvpers without any real gear of any sort would play structured with a few friends in an "arena" team, and then later on would use their gear to progress up the ranks with skill + gear, and proceed to gain advantages in UNstructured pvp, perhaps?
@super6plx Kewl, but I'm guessing you would need to use PvE gear for the unstructured PvP, or are there commendations or such rewarded for doing structured PvP which you can use on PvP related items? I suppose you might not be able to answer that question.. :P
There is World pvp, only it doesn't take place in your server. Your very own server goes up against 2 other servers (this is what Anet calls WvWvW) in a 3 way duke out contest, think Wintergrasp only its way more goal oriented and requires more strategy since you take control of numerous points in the map against 2 other servers which makes it several times more fun.

@omicida4991 Your right, its not the "world pvp" that everyone seems to portray. It takes place in another area on a seperate instance. Think Alterac Valley, Wintergrasp and Tol'borad mixed together only its on steroids, what's good about this too is that it enforces server community and server pride. Which is what Arenanet is trying to do with WvW.
@Supajayare There isn't really a lot of world PvP in SWTOR, even less in WoW, but when there actually is it's usually a lot of fun. However since it's quite unusual I suppose it's not going to be something people will whine about, except simply having the option to do so. Is there any information about how often these battles will be? It's sad that I was hyped for SWTOR for afew months, played it for a month and now I'm hyped for another game, it always seems to be that way aswell..
@omicida4991 Trust me I know where your coming from, I was looking forward to ToR as well... don't get me wrong I'm still playing it and having fun but not nearly as much as fun as I was having in the first 2 weeks. The endgame (both pvp and pve) remind me too much of WoW, its just the same grind to get better gear just to stay ahead. But to answer your question, WvW battles last exactly 2 weeks and when the 2 weeks is over whichever server gets the top score by having the most control
@omicida4991 will rank up in the WvW ladder and face the high tier of servers. And you don't have to wait once one round of WvW is over, another one starts right after the previous one. So its basically a 24/7 3 way contest between 3 servers :) If Arenanet does things right, this should cater to all the RvR fans out there (I'm a DAoC vet) DAoC still is unrivaled imo as far as endgame pvp/rvrgoes, most fun i've had in an MMo yet.

Btw do you know if the "unstructured" or "structured" battlegrounds give tokens or such to purchase PvP armor, or do you simply use PvE gear in the "unstructured" battlegrounds? (Unstructured = battlegrounds that don't equip you with stuff, as the structured battlegrounds do with armor abilities and talent stuff.)
@omicida4991 As far as how the entire pvp system works and gear goes, i'm not really sure atm. I just know GW2 doesn't put its focus solely on what gear you have equipped, since the battle system in GW2 leans more towards a dynamic-freestyle combat (ala God of War, devil may cry-like) the combat focuses more on skill, timing, and what skills you have equipped in your bar. Let's not forget that you have dozens of class and weapon skills to choose from,but you can only have 10 equipped at a time.

@omicida4991 That's where GW2's "Dynamic events" kick in, there are hundreds in the open world. If you watch one of TB's previous vids from Gamescon, he says that there are no quest NPCs at all, if you enter a town and some random event is going on you have to do something about it, another thing with that is if more people take part in that event the harder it will be. Another cool thing with dynamic events is that its not only in the open world, but with dungeons as well. Each dungeon
@omicida4991 I believe has 6-8 possible map layouts, and each layout has several different dynamic events. So lets say you do a dungeon today and the first boss is a red dragon then you do the same dungeon tomorrow, the first boss will be 2 giant ogres instead or fend off a horde of goblins... stuff like that. You'll still get gear of course for finishing dungeons and beating bosses, but unlike WoW, ToR and all those other gear centric MMOs, gear just won't matter as much.
@omicida4991 Basically what i'm trying to say is that, instead of just the endless grind for gear. Arenanet is trying to approach endgame from a different point of view, your trying to explore different aspects of what the actual gameworld has to offer. If you've played Skyrim or Fallout, GW2 is basically like an online version of those games.
@Supajayare I'm playing SWTOR atm, and I'm in a trial to join a hardcore PvP guild and they'll probably try out GW2, so I'm hoping to become a member and play both GW2 and SWTOR with em.
The engineer class looks awful. I really hope this game will have some sort of reason to keep playing instead of just the singleplayer and then you're 'done', like the first GW.
@JasonX716 SWTOR=WoW in gameplay and quest mechanics (except for the cutscenes). GW2 is more innovative. You should give it a try before not choosing to play it (you could try the beta when it's avaible).

@omicida4991 Trust me I know where your coming from, I was looking forward to ToR as well... don't get me wrong I'm still playing it and having fun but not nearly as much as fun as I was having in the first 2 weeks. The endgame (both pvp and pve) remind me too much of WoW, its just the same grind to get better gear just to stay ahead. But to answer your question, WvW battles last exactly 2 weeks and when the 2 weeks is over whichever server gets the top score by having the most control

@omicida4991 will rank up in the WvW ladder and face the high tier of servers. And you don't have to wait once one round of WvW is over, another one starts right after the previous one. So its basically a 24/7 3 way contest between 3 servers :) If Arenanet does things right, this should cater to all the RvR fans out there (I'm a DAoC vet) DAoC still is unrivaled imo as far as endgame pvp/rvrgoes, most fun i've had in an MMo yet.

Btw do you know if the "unstructured" or "structured" battlegrounds give tokens or such to purchase PvP armor, or do you simply use PvE gear in the "unstructured" battlegrounds? (Unstructured = battlegrounds that don't equip you with stuff, as the structured battlegrounds do with armor abilities and talent stuff.)

@omicida4991 As far as how the entire pvp system works and gear goes, i'm not really sure atm. I just know GW2 doesn't put its focus solely on what gear you have equipped, since the battle system in GW2 leans more towards a dynamic-freestyle combat (ala God of War, devil may cry-like) the combat focuses more on skill, timing, and what skills you have equipped in your bar. Let's not forget that you have dozens of class and weapon skills to choose from,but you can only have 10 equipped at a time.

@omicida4991 That's where GW2's "Dynamic events" kick in, there are hundreds in the open world. If you watch one of TB's previous vids from Gamescon, he says that there are no quest NPCs at all, if you enter a town and some random event is going on you have to do something about it, another thing with that is if more people take part in that event the harder it will be. Another cool thing with dynamic events is that its not only in the open world, but with dungeons as well. Each dungeon

@omicida4991 I believe has 6-8 possible map layouts, and each layout has several different dynamic events. So lets say you do a dungeon today and the first boss is a red dragon then you do the same dungeon tomorrow, the first boss will be 2 giant ogres instead or fend off a horde of goblins... stuff like that. You'll still get gear of course for finishing dungeons and beating bosses, but unlike WoW, ToR and all those other gear centric MMOs, gear just won't matter as much.

@omicida4991 Basically what i'm trying to say is that, instead of just the endless grind for gear. Arenanet is trying to approach endgame from a different point of view, your trying to explore different aspects of what the actual gameworld has to offer. If you've played Skyrim or Fallout, GW2 is basically like an online version of those games.
