@Baldurthegood Polar shift is still a hypothesis and is yet to be proven by science (unlike polar wandering and geomagnetic switching). However possible causes could be due to mass redistributions in the mantle and core surface (which is a relatively unknown frontier), or large mass transfers on the surface such as ice sheets suddenly melting.

@styzor This is true, but when he says that it is "two dimensional", he's talking about "for practical purposes". It's 2-D for practical purposes, like a piece of paper. This is because the third dimension of the objects are so small that it can be ignored, practically.
@MisterSecurity702 2d only happens as an affect of perception aka being alive.
Same reason, you have odd and even, numbers and why the standard model does not work and why the they are trying to find the GOD particle over at the LCH.. yet the fail to notice one basic thing

@styzor Well, that's another valid argument, yes. Both your argument and my argument holds true. The only difference is the particular realm of existence used as a lens. You are coming from macro-perception while I'm coming from the macro-functionality point. :D
I love stuff like this :) and this is also possible on eart .. just get a little thing that makes a round shape a dip it in some soapy water !! and nature does the rest

Also please take note that the experiments in this video aren't all they spend their time doing aboard the Space Station. They have plenty of real work to do. This stuff was done in their spare time.
I wish I could do that. People need to understand that Pettit, Bowersox, and Budarin, the astronauts aboard during this video, didn't fly up to Space Station to just "play with water". They were up there to see how long humans can stay in zero-gravity and see alternate ways to get the needed sources to survive in space. These videos were created because they were stuck aboard when the shuttle Columbia crashed and they weren't fully ready to launch another ship in fear of another crash. Fun fact.

The video at 45 min(ish) cost about 7.8million dollars to produce. And the time it took to produce these results cost in the upwards of 165+million dollars, so was this play time really worth it, think of how this funding could have been put to good use here on Earth.
you have two options placed before you. comet impact/sun going nova end of life on earth or learning what it takes to move out to multiple solar systems. Choose.
@simshiver No one spent millions to produce this video. It did cost millions to put the crew aboard the ISS, but it would've cost just as much even if they never made this video. They do quite a bit more on orbit than this. Also, this video isn't altogether gratuitous. I hate to think we'd spend all that cash to send them up only for them to ignore the opportunity to explore. That is, after all, exactly what the ISS is for.
