  • this is the sort of thing derek jarman would have done wonderfully

  • awesome! pity its not able to be watched fullscreen, its compressed like arse

  • watch?v=Zb_0h2IxOqc

for an excellent video on "The Trial's" political significance today in our post-9/11 reality, with our "Patriot" Act that is really a Treason Act. Worth the watch.

  • TRY TO IMAGINE IN ALL CITIES IN EUROPE EVERY CITY VILLAGE TOWN IN EUROPE HAD A CLOSED SECT JUST FOR JEWS THAT FELT AND WHERE ATTACKED CLOSED DOWN NWHENEVER KAFKA EXPRESSES PARANOIA

  • Awesome upload. Might you happen to have a torrent or downloadable version of this, please?

  • @slinkhard84 I second this!

  • I saw an aburdist adaption of this the other day, the contrast between this and the play is crazy.

  • I swear that's Kyle MacLachlan playing Joseph K not Tim Roth...

  • thats right

  • @loopynutcase You would be incorrect. It is Tim Roth. 1988.

  • I have to go to trial tomorrow. I drank and drove easily, a few blocks from my house. A cop came flying up behind me and I moved over, pulled in front of my house and was arrested. He put chains on me (cuffs) and was not nice. I have a daughter in college, and give to charity. I was feeling sad that day.

The crime is a little vague, but the severity of the punishment is quite clear.

I know. Don't drink and drive. (Don't drink?)

  • it's from "the modern world: ten great writers"

  • Hold the phone Chuck! I got it! New World Order, FEMA camps, chemtrails, Miley Cyrus around every corner, Youtube comments, a red negative one for a comment praising Orson Welles and Kafka -- Holy Shituh!! THERE IS NO WAY OF SAYING WHAT IS WRONG!!! David Rockefeller read Kafka? Cheney is an alien? Kafka was Illuminati? Yes and no. Respond!! Respond all you want!!! YOU WILL NOT HELP YOUR CASE! IN FACT, YOU ONLY DRAW ATTENTION OF EVERYONE HERE, WHO MAY BE MAGISTRATES.

  • I find myself in the Kafkaesque situation of being able to find no other meaningful reference to The Trial with Tim Roth except right here. Where does this film come from?

  • Its from a documentary shown on the

South Bank Show ( a ITV arts programme) in the early nineties. Quality British television. Actually most of it is crap esp. nowadays.

  • @pme96 If you were ever exposed to US media you would realise how great the BBC is. Agreed most of it these days is complete BS. The only things worth watching are on the web.

  • @PeterSodhi Yes about 10% of the output of British TV could still be called quality. Increasingly the niche minority public service aspect that allows us channels such as BBC Four or More4. The rest is average to abysmal. Hard to stomach for the descerning. Meat and drink to the rest. To be honest if all TV was dross I would get a lot more done.

  • @brahgo South Bank Show 1988

  • an amazing novel, play and film. thanks a lot for posting, im studying the play for my drama a level, good to see another interpretation

  • I just watched an adaption of this play on stage in Auckland, New Zealand. It was really original, with the audience following the cast members around the various areas of the theater

  • Brilliant movie, Orson Welles and Franz Kafka were a perfect match....

  • Orsnon Welles is God

  • Holy smokes! I found this movie?! O_o STrange! Great Job uploading the thing. However, Orson Well's Version was a bit better.

  • @nofx221984 Well's is cinematically stunning, but slightly less accurate in regards to the actual story.
