try learning some scales, E minor, A minor, D minor and F major are fun keys to lay down scales over. write a simple song in these keys, use it as a foundation to create scale patterns over. I am not expecting you to do 16th or 32nd note runs or arpeggio sweeps, just experiment a little.

this is partly why you are struggling with your strumming patterns, they are a little inaccurate. sit up straight on a stool, set the body of the acoustic in your legs and rest the body of the guitar on your right thy, so that the neck is slightly going up at an angle. press a little harder on the strings when you apply bar chords, so the notes ring out better. show some more confidence, YOU ARE SMOKING ASS HOT, stop being so shy.
