He is ahead in the polls. It's more a question of why do McCain supporters have to focus on lies or exaggerations about Obama's background. It seems rather desperate. I posted elsewhere; I too am really glad Powell made this statement. I have always been on the more liberal side of moderate; I've been agnostic since I was a teen. I've admired Powell for a long time, and this is the kind of wisdom that we need more of our leaders to step up and state.
