I'm playing through this again. When I fought the Fear last night, for some stupid reason I decided to try to pick a fly agaric to throw at him just as he came out of the trees. I was crawling towards the mushroom to pluck it with the knife, and he came running past Snake... then stopped, kicked him and ran off to get the rotten snake I'd thrown. Dick.

The Fear was a great boss too. The Pain was pretty good. The cobra unit battles kept getting better except The End was better then all of them. Just my opinion though.

Second playthrough, it was much easier after you find where he's shooting from and sneak up behind him. He leaves footprints you can see using the thermal goggles, and then you just follow them around. It was still super intense.
i wont lie, i thought the fear was a pretty easy boss, but it was a fun battle, dodging traps, finding him in the trees and using all that crappy rotten food in my kit for something actually useful!
i remember me & my cousin were playing the game in 2 different files, and when i get to fury, my cousin was with fear, haha and he spend like a hour or more, battling with him... he get so frustrated and i was on the msn... i saw him and told....

The Fear is a wimp. 1st time i played against him (on hard mode) I mopped the floor with him. I thought he was goin to fight like Vamp. How wrong was I.
It's a little annoying that if you don't remove the arrows using cure, save, then come back, they'll stay for the rest of the run of the game permanently.
I like killing all the other animals and forcing him to eat poisonous frogs that I tranqed before the fight. If you have enough frogs then you only need to hit him once with the Mr. 22 or anything else that will do stamina damage.

ok easy exploit, and makes beating this guy a little easier. use the fake death pill at the beginning of the fight, then he'll come down from the trees and say "dead already? just when the real fear was about to start." when he turns away, use a stun grenade, turn away, then after he's stunned, tranq him. works every time

too bad they didn't add some element to stop you from curing the poision in your leg during the battle, like make the only serum capable of stoping the poision in the fears possession, than make it a race against time to save your very life.

This Theme gives me the Vibe that the Laughing Octopus Theme Gives me. I wonder is there any part of this Theme in that..because they sound simular but in Very little ways
The coolest thing I did in this boss battle was to make sure I got all the bad food I had and get rid of it by throwing it out on the field for him to eat. Then I killed the poison frogs and let him eat them, and then got all the bad mushrooms. All I did was dodge his arrows and run like hell. It was funny hearing the Fear scream "Its poison!!!" after a while he began to curse saying "DAMN YOU!!!" All I could do was laugh at him.
I tried for fuckin' ever to get a stamina kill on this bitch but failed epically so I just killed him :/ Thermal goggles were a waste-less confusing if you just look for him since you can kinda see him leaping from tree to tree
i'll teach u how to stamina kill him. go up the the trap where you will be hung up to a tree then press triangle to cut the rope then the fear will say something.then throw a stun grenade then take out the ak47 assault rifle then when he has stars on his head use the assault rifle and shoot him until his stamina is blank.i only used 20 seconds to kill him
Easier way. Waste a Fake death pill right at the first he will come near your body and say something(i can repeat what he said) then he will walk away, Get up and use a stun Grenade and finish him with the ak47. Basic same method, but yours is much more efficent(no need to waste) This method is just to get it over with quickly.
Actually, there's a snare trap with food on it, you get caught in it with an AK out, The Fear jumps down to check on what you do, you flash and destroy him. When he's flashed you take stamina away rather than health when you hit him.
there's another tactic! poison frogs and rotten food's when he need to eat something and us the tranquilizer gun mk 22 and just when he get down to eat the rotten or poison food,wait till he eat it and when he get down again to regurgitate the food let him do it so he can louse stamina then you shoot him with the mk22 and you'll bet him and you'll get his camo too!
The End hides in a forest an shoots you from backside. He is very tricky, be carefull with him. You have to fool him, and use that "glasses" to see his steps.
The End's camo uniform is called "moss camo" and it acts like a photosynthetic suit so if you stand in the sun you get stamina, also it have excellent camo index in green areas. The Sorrow's camo is called "spirit camo" and it allows you to steal the stamina of people you choke and adds it to yours and aside from that it makes your footsteps completely silent.
to get The End's camo uniform, you have to beat him by taking away his stamina, so in other words..stamina kill him. To get The Sorrow's camo uniform, you have to walk all the way down the river when you encounter him. At the end of this river, you'll see The Sorrow's skeletal remains resting on the water with The Sorrow floating in the air right above them.
The Fear's camo isn't really that good imo. It's effective, but drains your stamina so freakin fast. You lose all your stamina in less than two minutes, and then the camo cancels itself.

Actually, there's a snare trap with food on it, you get caught in it with an AK out, The Fear jumps down to check on what you do, you flash and destroy him. When he's flashed you take stamina away rather than health when you hit him.

there's another tactic! poison frogs and rotten food's when he need to eat something and us the tranquilizer gun mk 22 and just when he get down to eat the rotten or poison food,wait till he eat it and when he get down again to regurgitate the food let him do it so he can louse stamina then you shoot him with the mk22 and you'll bet him and you'll get his camo too!

The End hides in a forest an shoots you from backside. He is very tricky, be carefull with him. You have to fool him, and use that "glasses" to see his steps.

The End's camo uniform is called "moss camo" and it acts like a photosynthetic suit so if you stand in the sun you get stamina, also it have excellent camo index in green areas. The Sorrow's camo is called "spirit camo" and it allows you to steal the stamina of people you choke and adds it to yours and aside from that it makes your footsteps completely silent.

to get The End's camo uniform, you have to beat him by taking away his stamina, so in other words..stamina kill him. To get The Sorrow's camo uniform, you have to walk all the way down the river when you encounter him. At the end of this river, you'll see The Sorrow's skeletal remains resting on the water with The Sorrow floating in the air right above them.

The Fear's camo isn't really that good imo. It's effective, but drains your stamina so freakin fast. You lose all your stamina in less than two minutes, and then the camo cancels itself.

The sorrow camo makes you run and walk silently, and the End camo stand in sunlight you recover stamina. there you have it buddy:)

I took him out with the MK22 but holy shit I pretty much took out all the food in the forest so he had nothing to eat the only things left were fly agarics and poison dart frogs lol

I have to admit, this boss was kind of hard to get his camo. You keep shooting him with the Mk22 and deplete his stamina to a really low level, but then he ends up shooting sometihng and eats, fully recovering his stamina. But, here's a trick for all you people who want the Spider Camo: When his stamina is low, shoot a Poison Dart Frog or a
Fly Agaric mushroom if there are any.
