This safety video was a memerable and first over seas vacation with my beloved wife back of March 7 of 07. Ironicly this March of 011 our divorce will be final. I'm deeply sadden but I will not forget the wonderful time we shared and I will deeply miss her so much! Jesse

First officer's are from Hong Kong and i think they need to speak chinese/cantonese/English.

To be a captain , you need to speak english only

Chinese is basically cantonese...except it also includes manadrin.

no u don't. Instead CX is more inclined to hire english speaking pilots to prevent language barriers between cockpits and towers.

@kl9977gmail Cathay wants to cut costs by reducing the amount of pilots on an expat salary (ie, those with a housing allowance)...By loosening the HK PR Restriction - letting anyone in the world apply - they are planning for the future, they will not need to hire as many expats because they already have past cadets on the line, being paid as locals - without this expensive housing allowance.

I like this video. I like the music in this one better than the old one. I flew on CX back in late 2005 so I saw the old video and I liked that one as well.

There is a New one.I thought the new seat layout will be in Long Haul but it's on Short Haul flights on 747s from MNL-HKG.The seat was awesome! and confusing you have to push it so it will be back to its form they have new games and videos in Economy can be played anytime you want!

OMG why did they change the music??? i almost fell asleep listening to this one so there is almost no point in watching this version. CX, change the music back to the first version of the animated safety video!!!! Thumbs down to CX.

Does the music on the safety vid mean everything to you? If you already know what they are going to say, then don't watch it. read a book or something. and you are only falling asleep from it because they just keep telling you the same things that they tell you in the old version. Plus, the people who fly frequently would feel the same about the old old music as well

The music makes it more interesting to listen to. You have no right to tell me what to do if I don't like the music. I've flown CX many times and do not fall asleep because they "keep telling you the same things". I like the old music because it's got a beat to it; it's DIFFERENT!
