I nee to do replacement/repair on my Ruger Mark 1 22. Target Pistol (34 years old). Where would you suggest getting parts? And since this is going to be my first attempt at gun smithing, is replacing the Hammer and Hammer Strut going to present to much required experience to do this myself? Again, I don't even know where to get the parts? DUH... Thanks!
shinerbop, the reason it is not advised to clean a bore from the muzzle end (with a cleaning rod) is that repeated contact and rubbing of the cleaning rod could possibly wear the rifling rendering the gun less accurate. it's advised to always clean from the chamber when possible.
Hello. You did clean the bore - However you neglected to clean the other half of the upper from the feedramp backwards. This area where the bolt fits - along with the ejection port and ejector should be cleaned as carbon from exploded powder can cause rusting. It would be necessary to include this part. Thank You. sincerely, JAMES.

If you got an aerosol can of Remoil or whatever spray it into the trigger group, you'll get alot of shit out of it

Why is it bad to punch the bore from the front?
