I got to hear Lisa K. do this live at my first Celtic Woman concert I ever attended (Isle of Hope tour). This was before the DVD of the Powerscourt concert was released, so I hadn't heard her do this before. She actually sounded better live than in this performance, but maybe it was because she had done it many times during the tour. In any case, from my seat, it was obvious she was actually singing.

@hrajotte I know what a music video is, and this performance I am aware was live but Lisa was clearly lip syncing. The whole PBS special was lip-synced. I still love them though. Many singers lip-sync during performances today. It's very common.

@LittleMonsterMan93 My advice would be that you attend the recording concerts for their next DVD. Please do not mistake poorly converted videos with unsynched audio & video as lip-synching. There are a lot of those out there (and they are very annoying, too!) Also, these live tracks differ from the studio tracks, some considerably and beyond AutoTune capabilities, which to my knowledge they do not use.

@gaeilgeO1 It was an altered version of the song. And we don't have to agree but I firmly stand by my opinion that she was lip-syncing this performance. If you look it up you'll find that each singer in celtic woman lip-syncs certain songs. Celtic woman has NEVER been pitch perfect and yet they seem to be for this entire PBS special. hmmmmmm. Also her mouth movements don't quite match the syllables she's supposed to be singing.

The PBS specials are from the DVD, and this is an Adobe Flashplayer version of the same. It will never look as perfect on Youtube as TV/DVD. If greedy record companies gave you perfect video for free, why bother buy a DVD?

She loves performing and is very friendly and outgoing....She loves meeting fans at the meet and greets...And usually invites people in that don't have the tickets....

you people do realize that the filming for the DVD's usually take place over the course of two days? the audio for one performance night might be better than the other night, so naturally, they would use the better audio for the final DVD. that's why the audio might not match perfectly with the singers' lips.

during the "live performance the violinist Mae reid or whatever doing her solo running around also tripped over her dress and stopped playing to catch herself again, it kept playing. They sing over the recording with their mics muted so you hear no breaths or wind noise when they dance, to get the right effect. you can hear them in the front row over thepre-recorded track singing along.

You can tell a big difference with background noise, breathing, and the mic in general bouncing when they walk. I have a studio ear and notice it. Since my friend told me I now watch for mis-synchs, it's noticable. -all that aside, it's still a great experience.

@Hargak Sorry to disappoint you but your friend is full of BS. The entire show is performed live and simultaneously recorded. They lost full power on the lights and sound during one show and they were still singing as the audio went out. They use a track during rehearsal to block the stage movement and lighting/effects cues. They use Countryman mics which are TOTL. The background you may hear is NOT from those but from the hundred other mics that are on all the instruments.

Your not listening! Yes they sing it, you can hear them in the front row. their mic's are muted until they talk. They make mistakes, it's not perfect. Nobody is. Still a great performance. 2 songs were live at the one we paid for in texas, the rest were not. When the violinist stumbled her solo violin magically kept playing even though she was not using it, she was catching herself so she didn't fall. a trained ear can see the mismatching, but stuff like that is obvious. Don't kid yourself.
