Mmkay.. This accident came down to money and I can prove it. I am a carpenter, like jesus was. By code, with 50% STANDING area a floor is deemed high occupancy and therefore needing stronger joists. So, does it make sense to you that it costs WAY more money for stronger floors? When the church was built, someone (probably the pastor) made the decision to add a few more rows of pews to meet low occupancy code and save MONEY, not lives. ACHEMS RAZOR!HA! in your face god!

You can clearly see that the Lead Singer is actually telling the 'jumpers' to stop, as he looks up and sees the lights swaying, prior to the collapse of the floor..

I am in a rock band and have seen this effect many times, when lights sway due to the crowd bounce or jumping in unison. It ALSO happens at LARGE rock concerts held in arenas, You can feel the floor bounce, as people start jumping in unison, causing resonance.

I am just responding to this "mosh pit" scenario.. 1st, I was not there, but have examined the home video at lenght. 2nd, a "mosh pit" is an area of the dance floor that has been cleared of people and is used as a Slam area, for music enthusists to actually "slam" into each other, not jump up and down in unison. 3rd, the People (about 4~6 rows infrom of the stage, can be seen jumping up and down in unison, Causing the problem.

According to the news i heard this morning, they had announced after the song previous to the collapse that everyone needed to stop jumping... it had been a lot more intense, and it's very true that everyone jumping at once is a lot more force then people slamming into each other.

There must have been some reason/worry though, for them to ask everyone to stop.

What you dont have the actual fall that sucks. I was one of the people who fell and was looking for another perspective. But ya we were lucky that it didnt go worse than it did. We have god to thank for that. I mean three Pews fell into the basement with us. I was pinned under one of them and was trampled. But like we are so fortunate that the pews didnt fall on anyones head and snap their neck. That was a night to remember. Im glad I and all my friends who fell into the basement with me are ok.
