yep panthers aren't a species, it is a general term for any big cat. lions, tigers, jaguars, leopards, cougars are all panthers. the term "black panther" can refer to any of those species who are black in color. A black jaguar is a black panther, a black leopard is a black panther.

That is a black male Jaguar, not a Panther. His rosette markings can be seen if you look close when the camera lighting allows. He's a big boy Jaguar about to mate. Jags can be black or amber/golden, each have rosette markings, a sign of their distinction among other big cats. Not playing or fighting, it's foreplay.

That black male would hold his ground easily with any Lion. Jaguars are incredibly strong and fast also. Size does not always make the winner. That black Jag is insane. No Lion would want to take him on, and if so, they'd be in deep.

The jaguar is a Female and she is in heat. When you watch the video you see her twisting and turning and rubing her scent on the ground. She does not move from the bed and waits for the male to circle back around. The Panther is a male and it seems they are trying to mate the both of them. The male seems interested in the female but their is too many people around for them to do anything.

@EzSketch The Jaguar is much larger and heavier, and the pattern of spots are different, the Jaguars are the largest and Leopard are much smaller. Jaguar's head is proportionally larger relative to the body. An adult specimen reaches up to 2.60 m long, weighing up to around 115 kg.

and the Leopard is much smaller measuring 1.25 m 1.65 m long and weigh between 30 and 90kg
