Actually, the X in IP-X8 means it is not rated for dust or particles.

Great review. The only downside for me is the fact that it hasn't got a instant strobe with the ED10. It would be very usefull on a rifle. Can't wait to buy the light.

Good God! 450 lumens?!?

Pretty soon, carrying a firearm for defense is going to become obsolete. If someone attacks you, just whip out your flashlight, melt their eyeballs instantly with a Hiroshima-like blast of light, and then calmly walk away while they scream in agony and grasp blindly at air. Just be sure you're wearing an auto-darkening welder's helmet before you click on your light. :-)

Those "divots" are actually part of a defense system. The "divoted" front is called a crenelated bezel. A couple taps of that on a BG's head will persuade him to cease and desist. Nice light, good price for >400 lumen. Thanks Sootch.

that low light setting would be great to not give your position away to the insurgents or/and to keep your natural night vision and keep your pupils dilated to see better in the dark.
