  • GREAT POINT ! Who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither ! Benjamin Franklin

  • No one likes Toronto... :P

Boycot it.. I was doing that years ago lol

  • i never thaught i would get into handguns and assult rifles when i first got my FAC in the early 90's but when paul martin opened his big fat mouth about banning handguns i started getting into it. as a hunter and one who believes in self deffence i vow to protect all responsable gun activitys. armed men are free men.

  • David Miller is a total moron. To Outlaw Guns is to give the "Outlaws" on the street the upper hand with their Guns. In turn, all of the honest people are then unable to protect ourselves - it makes citizens sitting Ducks! Guns do not kill people, idiot criminals with guns kill people. And, good citizens with guns protect ALL. Any criminal can get a gun in 20 min. for $50 bucks. Wake up Miller, you're so off base it's pathetic!

  • krisyyz you are a loser! i bet you vote ndp, ndp voters are lazy loser people, all the states that have carry concealed have lower crime, look at chicago, they dont allow hand guns, they want the national guard to patrol the streets!

  • @wood800 There is no reason to speak to me like that. So everyone who disagrees with your view point is a "loser". I have never voted NDP, and I never will. The biggest problem with the entire gun issue is that it has become way too political and partisan.

  • i live in u.s.a. and i'm going to tell all you canadians that don't have a u.s. constitution to hand out petitions to your fellow neighbors by the thousands, and then millions, get all those people and then....march on OTTAWA with force by whatever means, and force canadian guns bans to get lifted!!!!!!!

  • easy to say until you've got a violent man breaking down your door at 2 AM.

  • so you would just start shooting in the dark? Do you know how many people have killed family member, dogs or friends because they thought that someone was breaking into their house? A lot of gun owner also die when their own gun is used against them or is accidentally discharged. I am not against law abiding people having firearms. I believe life is sacred and guns are used to loosely by people who don't fully think of the consequences. I can't stand the NRA who puts their agenda before life.

  • @Russoft Handguns = NO! But Long guns I could accept. Why Boycott Toronto? Just give hell to the mayor. It makes more sense. Remember "A governments worst nightmare is a rebellion." If you do what you said to Toronto that will ruin Canada for sure. I plan on being a politican and the PM of Canada with my own party. Altho I agree getting rid of target ranges was a bitch not giving Toronto money will ruin Canada because they the citizens get hurt not the mayor.

  • @KrisYYZ criminals will still have them and as long as they do I have the right to defend myself in the best way possible against this....

  • @KrisYYZ the jokes on you pal!!!

  • @KrisYYZ David Miller is a total moron. To Outlaw Guns is to give the "Outlaws" on the street the upper hand with their Guns. • @KrisYYZ to bad you are completly wrong on this fact.

All I need to do is say Chicago,Washington D.C. New York City,Boston.

What do all these have in Common.....the most restrictive gun control in North American and look how high the crime is in these places.

  • @snobak1 there is no doubt that the abovemetioned cities have a very high crime rate. But there are nummerous factors at play there, not just gun control. Violent crime in TO has been on the decline for the last couple of years. I understand and respect your viewpoint. I

  • @KrisYYZ yes the factors being that Chicago & Washington D.C. had BANNED PRIVATE ownership of firearms which is in direct violation of the 2nd amendment.

That is why lost the case in the supreme court.New York city & Boston also have more strigent gun control laws than Toronto and yet have higher gun violence.

It just shows that gun control does not work in anyway shape or form.

  • @snobak1 The economy, poverty and a corrupt police force are also to blame for increasing crime rates in some US cities. Private gun ownership is not a silver bullet that would solve the crime problem. Personally, I think that Canada needs to crack down on illegal guns coming across the border from the US. An intelligent and law abiding person would not buy a stolen gun. Allow gun ownership but that must be accompanied with stronger firearms education.

  • @KrisYYZ My question to you is...all those things are to blame then why is it in places that allow concealled carry and easier access to guns actually have lower crime rates than places like Chicago,Washington,D.C. and places that have strict gun control?

  • @snobak1 I don't know. What I do know is most of the safest cities in the world don't allow private gun ownership or concealed weapons. The US is a different story. Gun ownership is apart of the American psyche. Perhaps carrying a loaded weapon makes sense in most major US cities, but that is why I live in Canada. I am willing to be that if Chicago or Washington DC allowed concealed weapons, the crime rate would drop but it would still be very high when compared to other major cities.

  • @KrisYYZ I too live in Canada and have faced more crime in Canada than in any city in the U.S. I have been in the most violent cities in the U.S.

Likewise I have also traveled the world and been to the most violent places on the earth, yet I would prefer that LAW ABIDING be allowed to defend themsleves andnot be treated the same as the criminal.

  • @KrisYYZ,

One's freedom to own and enjoy firearms usurps anybody's unwarranted fear about their existence. Handguns have been banned in other places, including the UK, and crime rates have increased. The city of Toronto should be concentrating on poverty and criminals, not people who have complied with the law and registered their gun(s).

Men and women who own guns in Canada include doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc. And they shouldn't have to be treated like criminals to enjoy their sport.

  • @KrisYYZ Well here the thing... My grandfather had full auto.. but can I have it no.... well I could of.. but if you take all the ranges away then were will the gun oweners go.. They will say screw it and do what they want illeglaly.. thats what allot of the old full auto guys did when they said you cant shoot at any range they said F it and went into the bush

  • @KrisYYZ Sorry, but you're wrong. No one can help you when violent criminals attack you but yourself. If the criminal has a gun, and you dont, you won't live to tell anyone about it. Take a seat at the kiddie table please, you aren't able to talk at this level.

  • Soooo happy Miller is going!

  • i don't live in canada, but i definitely support this!!!!!

  • you can take my rifle from my cold dead hands

  • Mayor David Miller is truly the enemy of honest, law-abiding Canadians. He's a very dangerous human being. I for one would feel much safer if I was able to keep a handgun for personal protection. Liberty: being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views. A Vancouver woman was recently stabbed and slashed too death 33 times. The perp was charged with manslaughter and got 8 years, out in 5. That's freedom?

  • Yes, we don't want you either. Last thing we need is your arrogant and selfish Mayor running for national office. He's an outright dangerous man bent on eliminating personal liberty and creating reliance on overburdened and underfunded police forces. He's against personal liberties and freedom. He is, like you, why the quality of life in Canada has dropped so much.

  • No one likes toronto..

  • nope

  • Amazingly, Mayor Miller claims that Toronto "is still very safe compared to most American cities." Never mind that Toronto has more muggings, car thefts, and assaults per capita than New York City! Nationally, Canada's overall crime rate is 50% higher than the US; and 30 US states are safer than any Canadian province.

Oh Canada! Reform our gun laws!

  • I tend to avoid Toronto anyway :P

  • Im from toronto born and raised have my restricted and non restricted permits i dont really notice it at all because its only city OWNED ranges only, not all ranges. But I fucking David miller the shit hes trying to pull is completely retarded. and trust me ive sent my emails.

  • Support

  • Toronto the bad, how we hate thee.

Wendy Cukier, David Miller, and all those other clowns can blow my dong.

  • "We hold that the individual has the right to own and bear arms. Consequently we oppose restrictions on the ownership or use of guns or any other arms. General arms restrictions deprive the individual of his/her right to self-defense in an emergency situation while leaving the criminal fully armed." -- Libertarian Party of Canada

  • I'd like to get involved in the Libertarian party, but what with the proposed ban on semi-autos that the Liberals are pushing, I want to make very sure they don't take power in the next election. I happen to be interested primary in weapons they don't want me to own.

  • For those living in Toronto: go to the 905 area, or better yet to the rural areas surrounding, to do all your shopping and services.

  • The NDP supports criminals and terrorists!

  • David Miller is an idiot, his "facts" prove and mean nothing, I have got quite a few relatives living in Toronto and they are members in some of the Gun Range things, its just that David is dumb, bottom line.

  • Divid Miller is a bottom feeding piece of s**t communist, plain and simple. Most Torontoians are pretty much the same. F**k them all. I hope that city continues it's downfall into the abyss with Divid Miller at the helm.

  • Return of math videos in September?

Oh, and any recommendation for profs to take 2nd year EE courses from? You can always attend a different lecture, but it's much handier if you're in their class.

  • So EE it is?

For EE 280, I recommend Dr. Lukasz Kurgan. I really liked his lectures. He was interesting, although he has a bit of an accent.

For EE 240, I honestly can't recommend a professor. Mine put me to sleep. If Jeremy Sit is available, he's very good but I think he only teaches 3rd year. I'll do more digging on that.

I'll finish this list on facebook. Also, I plan to do math videos as soon as possible, hopefully before september.

  • Take Mani V for EE250! and maybe 240 if you're lucky. The best!

If you can get Allegretto for Math209, you'll be the luckiest SOB on the face of the planet.

  • how is that any different than whats happened in Alberta? Didnt we lose all our ranges within Edmonton already? I dont see how a boycott of a city is going to make that statement(to be fair youd have to say boycott Edmonton too lol)...

  • We have Pheonix Range, Wild West in West Ed, and then several on the outskirts of the city (Leduc, Spruce Grove, etc). While there aren't many ranges available to us here, they still ARE THERE.

  • ahh yeah Ok my bad I forgot those two.

  • This video is doomed to a flood of hate, if that first comment is any indication. But don't worry -- I've no plans to visit Toronto.

  • I welcome it :P

  • Oh at least you only have that as problem! Well at least your not worrying about the price of commodities and the ever growing poverty from where I live! But anyways... Just a curiosity is Canada a dangerous place to live in? That carry a gun is a necessity? Just curious! Coz I always thought that its best place to retire lol! HEHE!

  • Not nearly as bad as a lot of place. Now one may say "it's ridiculous to carry a gun in a safe place like Canada." The fact is that people STILL have home invasions and are still attacked in Canada, and I believe that a person should be able to carry a weapon for self defence. All studies on the subject show less crime when citizens are armed.

  • Rural Canada is really safe and the suburbs are also pretty safe but parts of the inner city are dodging.

  • 4% of legal weapons are used in crimes. 96% of guns used in crimes are illegally owned. Dozens of studies into gun control have found that gun ownership and crime are NOT related in ANY way.

  • PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE,NOT GUNS,IF YOUR GOING TO BAN GUNS,THEN BAN THE CAR IT KILLS MORE PEOPLE THAN BOTH WORLD WARS, A 2000lb car at 40MPH WILL KILL MORE PEOPLE TODAY THAN ANY GUN .

  • Oh...my...god....you are a sheep among the herd.

  • At least present an argument. This lame outburst could just as easily come from a 5 year old child who doesn't understand what a gun is... also I'm pretty sure he doesn't care if you unsubscribe ;)
