Chemical weapons are not capable of true mass destruction as nuclear weapons are. The reason for classing chemicals as "WMD" was political, specifically a cover for NATO first use of nukes in the event of World War III.
The Soviets pledged no first use of nukes, because they believed conventional and chemical weapons would be enough. NATO could pledge "no first use of WMD" while still planning to use nukes first, because they knew the Soviets would use chemicals first anyway.

And as for Israel, I completely agree...I really do not approve of anything Israel has done in the West Bank, Gaza, or criticizing Iran. I don't think Israel has the right to criticize anyone over nuclear weapons considering they won't even acknowledge that they have them. I thnk the UN should force Israel to sign the NPT.

i totaly agree with you in everything you said but don't forget that the sanctions that the EU+US are enforcing are REAL, the Nuclear bomb is just conjecture it can be true or false depending on Iran's intentions. something must be done from both sides and EU+US must come down from their high seats. also the double standard must stop, what i mean is that in the same way that the EU+US threaten and sanction Iran they must do the same to israel and India(India is not a signatory of NPT).

But one day Tehran says its going for peaceful purposes, then they say they are going to enrich to 20% and are testing Shahab missiles. They signed the NPT, and it is fucking obvious that they are breaking it. I don't think Iran will use the bomb, but that doesn't mean they should have one, esp because they signed a treaty forbidding increasing nuclear weapons supply.

It's not as simple as that, no matter how much idealists want it to be. Iran can't have nukes because of the whole idea of a rational actor...personally, I think Tehran is rational, it just has a nutcase president with no real authority, but the idea of a theocracy with a nuke is disconcerting to everyone...the US isn't unilaterally pushing for Iranian disarmament, the EU, even Russia and China are starting to get involved. They realize that Iran with a bomb is inherently dangerous.

The US is a rational actor, and wouldn't risk using nukes for obvious reasons (don't be a fool and bring up Hiroshima and Nagasaki, that's the worst argument I've ever heard). Yes, there needs to be a push for disarmament in every country (a main part of Obama's foreign policy). We need to STOP the proliferation of weapons, especially when it comes to countries with ambigious intentions like Iran.
