I have a preference for Aikido, though I am not a practitioner *yet* because of its non aggressive nature. It's fine to watch a high spinning kick being performed, but more impressive to me to see one individual defend himself against multiple aggressors.
Den viktigaste skillnaden mellan din, Stenudd-Sensei, och mycket annan Aikido, är att din är glädjebringande på ett sätt som för mina tankar till Nishio-Senseis teknik;
fylld av värme, experimentlusta och liv, mjukt och kraftfullt.
Du är så pedagogisk till synes utan att försöka (!)
Lär du fortfarande ut i Malmö ?
Jag kanske flyttar dit, då kommer jag och hälsar på. Mvh / Ichigo
sensei stennud, i'm troy from the philippines. i am one of those who watch your videos. they are so refined and fluid. i'm also practising aikido. i also posted videos from you tube. i just hop you could give comments on our aikido practices & tecniques here in the dojo where we are practising here in the philippines so that we could apply the tecniques properly. troi1927 is my name in youtube.
sensei, thank you so much. i really appreciate it so much for your comment. hope you could visit here in the philippines especaily hre in Cebu. i'll tell & explain what you've said to my fellow aikidoka here in the dojo . hope our practice here and the tecniques that we've learned are still in o' sensei morehei eushiba's tecniques - the principle is always there. me & my fellow aikidokas here in the Philippines wish you all the best there. take care always.
@unwnsniper There are strikes in aikido. We call them atemi, and most often they are made as distractions, and not to strike someone down. They could be used for the latter, of course, but then it would stop to be aikido.
You started the vid with a sword technique, then you demonstrated shiho nage, and went back to the sword. Forgive my ignorance, but were you showing a similarity between the sword technique and shiho nage?
Det händer ibland när videofilmer hamnar på YouTube. Jag vet inte varför. Kanske har det att göra med vilket videoformat det är på originalet. I detta fall är det WMV.
is a great lesson thank you!

@troi1927 Does aikido learn a fair amount of strikes or mostly throws and countering?

Request for clarification:
You started the vid with a sword technique, then you demonstrated shiho nage, and went back to the sword. Forgive my ignorance, but were you showing a similarity between the sword technique and shiho nage?

That's right :)
The movements are not identical, but there are similarities in the approach.

Ljudet släpar tyvärr. Tror inte det är "på min sida" det är fel, kanske kan det fixas så det synkar bättre?
Annars mycket bra film. Lärde mig en hel del!
