  • Personally, I think that it's crap to have a 'national prayer day.' Those to whom it matters to pray are likely doing it EVERY day. It's just more nonsense to fight about.

  • can fox for once be a little supportive of the president..... even a little???? or do they have to be stuck up pricks...... (they are not dumb) they are just narrow minded.

  • Why should they?

Tell you what, when D'ohBama does something smart; Fox should support him.

They, and I, are still waiting...

  • Not praying an exclusively Christian prayer, or getting involved in an exclusively Christian rally, while representing, as the President of the United States, a spiritually pluralistic nation, strikes me as a smart thing to do.

You are not going to give him good marks for that, Ted?

  • Um,, his 43 predecessors didn't have a problem with praying to the Creator Who endowed us all with certain, unalienable rights...

I wonder why he doesn't protect the traditions of our great country? Perhaps he doesn't believe that our country should look to God, as has his 43 predecessors...

  • His 43 predecessors DID NOT have to deal with this bullshit "National Day of Prayer." These Right Wing Fundamentalist rallies ARE NEW TO THE COUNTRY. Not American tradition AT ALL.

The creator who endowed us with inalienable rights? That would be "Nature's God," not the Christian God (see Dec of Ind.). And these truths are "self-evident," (the atheist, Ben Franklin's, editorial contribution.) NOT REVEALED BY THE CHRISTIAN GOD.

Our nation's founders WERE NOT CHRISTIANS. They were mostly Deists.

  • Oops, you're right, only the presidents since Eisenhower in 1951...

But, then again, every president before then also called for "National Days of Prayer" whenever this country faced tragedy. In fact, the very first thing the first congress, under the current Constitution, did was to hold a three-hour Chrstian prayer meeting and then commission an American Bible to be published. And, our first Chief Justice, John Jay, opened the first Supreme Court with prayer too.

    Know your history.

  • Know my history? I certainly know it well enough to refute this inane claim that the founders of our nation were Christians. They were all white men, mostly very wealthy, and they wrote the laws to protect white male wealth. They, of course, saw the advantages of Christian rhetoric for manipulating the stupid.

I know, of course, that many government meetings are opened with prayer -- usually an ecumenical prayer that does not refer to any specific conception of any particular religion's "god."

  • Once again your indoctrination is showing.

I bet your public skrewel teachers are giddy over your indoctrinated drivel. Try reading some books written before the 1960s...

  • Why would books written before the 1960s have a greater degree of accuracy? Just curious.

Whether you like it or not -- wealthy white men, following their white supremacist Biblical interpretations, and other white supremacist philosophies, colonized the world, traded in slaves, and murdered millions upon millions of brown and black people, raped every continent for resources and called it MANIFEST DESTINY. In other words they supposedly did it for GOD.

    Were they true Christians?

  • Well, like any other Christian - indeed, every other person - they too had sins which needed Christ's forgiveness.

Do you think being a Christian is supposed to make a person perfect this side of eternity?

Just remember, it was the anti-Biblical "Origin of the Species" that provided the impetus for most of the 19th and 20th Century racial hatred.

  • So you think these men were Christians? They were following the teachings of Jesus? Okay.

You are blaming Manifest Destiny on Darwin's Origins of Species? Okay.

  • Manifest Destiny -- the God-ordered responsibility of white Christians to spread the gospel to the "savages."

And enslave them, and kill them in untold numbers.

And Darwin was responsible for this doctrine? How again?

  • Dear God. Please shine a little of your glory on the pundits at Fox News and help them see the error of their ways.

Dear Satan. If God doesn't do that, please force the pundits at Fox News to resign amidst sleazy sex scandals.

  • LOL

  • Fox is the ultimate reason God does not exist.

  • Dear God. Please remove the only conservative news network so that if liberals do something we'd rather not acknowledge, we don't have to.

  • Invisible sky wizard.

  • oh sky wizard, please cast down your dainty hat, and elegant rob!

  • May 7the National prayer day? Its also National Masturbation day in the US.

  • are you fucking serious!?!?! I hope so.

  • Whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray while standing in synagogues and on street corners so that people can see them. Truly I say to you, they have their reward. But whenever you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you (Matthew 6:5-6).

Interesting... Obama seems to understand Jesus better than the right-wing does.

  • To bad none of the gospell writers ever met jesus :/

  • "Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out" LOL..true for Ratigan.

  • the world is a stupid bitchy spaz in space.

  • fox news is so pathetic...

I cant wait till the day people say no to religions and prayers and yes to the true message of GOD.

  • "Reverend, you're preaching to the choir."

    I wouldn't have guessed.

  • Kilmeade: "Why am I doing this in sing-song cadence!"

    Hahahaha.

  • Oh NOOOS! Obama didn't publicly pretend to talk to an invisible man in the sky! WE'RE ALL DOOMED!

  • The Day in 100 seconds and not a clip of Manny Ramirez getting a 50 game suspension.

  • When I was in jr high before every football games Id be socially Pressured to get on one knee and do a public prayer.

It was a very uncomfortable thing for me to do since at the time I was doubting my faith your relationship with god is a personal thing.

You pray in private because its the most humble and noble thing to do

  • theres alot going on, whats going on?! hahahaha that little car

  • Faux news disgusts me.

  • Public, ostentatious spectacles of pretend piety are as American as apple pie!

  • Okay, since when does praying in private mean you're appeasing to people outside of Christianity? I swear...Fox news needs to just Shut Up!

  • Remind me of something, USA acknowledges some intelligent level of separation of church and state right? So why would your president lead the country in any form of religious prayer.

Also, read your damn bible, Matthew 6:5!

  • u mean that big fat story book? thats all it is.

  • Well done. I wasn't defending the bible, I was saying they're hypocrites for demanding public prayer.

  • Obviously, you have not witnessed our incompetence.

  • Oh, I have!

  • As a Christian, I have no problem saying that those at Faux are the hypocrites that Jesus was referring to.

  • Wasn't there something in the bible about how you should pray in private, not in public like the hypocrits?

  • **hypocrites

  • god those fox and friends freaks will try anything

  • I cant believe the most interesting part was the Blond Bimbo!!! Disgraceful.....

  • Fuck Fox News and their opinions. Report the fucking news not your god-damned opinion.

  • How dare Obama listen to the teachings of Jesus, he should be listening to Elizabeth Hasslebeck.

  • Fox news has some hot women

  • It's actually quite watchable with the sound muted...then all you'd have to worry about are the misleading Chyron graphics.

  • ya, all the praying that Bush has been doing has been great for the economy. Thanks a lot, W.

  • We can pray or we get off our fucking knees and actually do something about the problems.

  • amen brother!

  • I believe JFK put it a bit more eloquently when he said that "... here on Earth, God's work must truly be our own."

  • l love these vids. keep it up

  • Wow, I had to watch that one a couple of times. That's a lot of horseshit in 24 hours!!

  • I guess Bulls just aren't cutting it anymore, huh? LOL

  • i hate main stream media

  • Obama believes religion is a deeply personal issue and shouldn't be in politics. He's said this. Everybody knows this. Yet somehow these idiots manage to lay a new egg each time it's "rediscovered".

  • I wish the terrorists would crash a plane into Fox News studios.

  • Too far. Fox News folks shouldn't be killed, just ignored.

  • keep church far away from government !

  • Secret religion

  • i pray evryone quits watching fox news,,what a frickin joke!

  • Prayer day? Where the hell have I been?

I'll pray for something other than leftovers tonight for dinner!

  • money party!!

  • Prayer is delusional.

  • Ooh ooh ooh I know he is appeasing muslim terrorists.

Thank you FOX news for your daily dose of stupidity.

  • "Odd Day" six per centruy??? How many odd # years in a century? How many odd # months in an odd # year? How many odd # days in an odd # month in an odd # year? Only six per century? Hmmm. Perhaps I don't understand the concept. That's gotta be it.

  • Odd day is when the three numbers are consecutive odd numbers... like 05/07/09.

  • Probably consecutive odd numbers like 5,7,9 or 5/7/09. 1/3/05, 3/5/07, 7/9/11, 9/11/13, 11/13/15 are the others.

  • lol! see you tomorrow!

  • oh FOX, which Bible are you guys reading from. of course those super religious conservatives remember the part about prayer being kept between a person and God, but it's funny how they conveniently forget these little things ^_^

  • Wondering what church fox and friends go to, religiously.

  • Why does the right care if Obama observes Prayer Day in public, they think he's a Muslim anyway. If Obama would have had some kind of ceremony or event Sean Hannity would have started his show by saying Obama is abolishing the separation of church and state.

  • true.

  • that is so true

  • milk and hotdogs???

  • Who in their right mind could ever believe in prayer? Even if you believed in some cosmically powerful god why on earth would 'he' need to hear your prayers to do something? It has to be one of the most ridiculous parts of any religion these days. If people were at least honest in admitting that it maybe only helps them feel more comfort, that would be better, although in that case why not dispense with the whole mumbo jumbo and just try to do something to improve the situation.

  • We can pray or we get off our fucking knees and actually do something about the problems.

  • LOL!

What a brilliant idea! To bad the Republicans will never understand such an idea.

  • Or (GASP!!!) we can pray, AND get off our knees and do something about the problems.

    Progressives, ASSEMBLE!!!

  • I have seen the power of prayer work wonders in my own life... however the Bible says that the Lord helps those who help themselves. Prayer is not the end of our obligation when it comes to making changes.

  • The Bible DOES NOT SAY "The Lord helps those who help themselves."

  • testicles test

  • Bush prayed with the nation and you see what good that did.

  • @ MeanieMuff

    Perfectly said, lol!!

  • @ clarkslick

It goes to show you how badly f/u humanity is.

We identify with this aging bag of bones as ourselves, yet reject the most important part that never dies. Instead, we label this "God" as separate from us as it can possibly be.

Then we insist God doesn't even exist. No wonder people get depressed.

  • There is absolutely nothing wrong with Obama choosing to pray in private. I happen to believe in God and I find this in no way offensive. In fact the Bible says you are not supposed to shove your relationship with him down other peoples throats. He is not a preacher he is our President.

  • God isn't real, therefore the President doesn't have to pray, however burgers are a must!

  • Well, if veggie burgers are included.

  • Sometimes, I like Elizabeth, but usually she's so damn annoying!!! WTF is her problem who is she trying to please?

  • Why do I have the STRONG feeling that the GOP needs more prayer NOW than EVER?

  • Fox News + Elizabeth Hasselbeck = Fail!! -_-

  • Jesus said true believers should pray in a closet...Now PLEASE, all believers head foe your closet and do not come out until Jesus returns!

    I have a dream!!

  • Lol..funny!

  • Why do I have the STRONG feeling that the GOP needs more prayer NOW than EVER?

  • fuck religion

  • SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE!

  • I will pray for republicans to get a heart and a brain.

  • prayer is bullshit!

  • John Elliot's part is the best ... always

  • OBAMA will forever be the best

  • CHOOCH

  • Obamma da best
