KFM was the greatest radio station in Stockport. When they went legal, they lost something, some touch wasn't there, but they were infinitely better than everyone else on the air. They played stuff not on anyone else's playlist and I heard music on KFM I would never have heard otherwise. Radio needs the Radio Carolines and the KFMs of the world, if radio is to survive, but music also needs them if diversity is to survive. Radio and television are far too corporate and narrow, endangering art.
