It's because he's a Linux fanboi and they're amazed anytime Linux does anything even if other OSs have done it for years. They'll rave on that Linux does it best and that everyone copies Linux even though, from the ground up, Linux is the biggest copycat OS ever.
true, guis really copy from other os somethink, but not everythink (!). and i see u are stupid not linux but linux graphical user interface is copying from other os. linux is kernel, it is build on unix. and why the fuck u have criticism on unix guis? this is good caus they copy good features from mac os x and from windoze, but they dont copy bad features from these oses. for example kde is copying windows interface but linux dont copy blue screen of death, and all windoze badness.
Are you stupid? Its not that linux is copying off of other OSs.. (And if they are show me something in Windows or OS X that compares to compiz) Its the fact that Linux is open-source Wich mean you can modify it redistribute it do what ever you want to it. Its also ABSOLUTELY FREE. So show me another OS that does that and i'll be glad to agree with you.
Being able to modify and redistribute the software would in no way proven or disprove anything about my post. You're trying to warp what I'm saying into something that simply doesn't matter.
Its cool to finally see the 1st alpha of KDE4 in action. Even though the bootup and the endless menu exploring aren't that great *cough* the rest gives a nice impression.
I'm missing the KWin4 OpenGL effects - those are (like vista) the major advert :)
This also clearly shows that alpha 1 is not meant for everyday use - lots of stuff is broken, buggy or slow...
For the people who came here vor KDE4: give the next alpha 2 a try. Its lookes a lot more complete but they were right to call it alpha again instead of beta.
I am also interested to know the title of the background music. Anyone?

Vista does NOT have OpenGL effects.
Yes you're right, alpha is not for everyday use. Duh!
denka1337 4 years ago
Ofcourse Vista doesn't have OpenGL effects, I didn't say that. I said the fancy effects are like the effects Aero renders...
"Duh!"
That coming from someone who is using a 'beta' video site...

Yes, but I don't complain about it.

Neither was I...
But I'm giving up on this discussion :\

Grab the demo iso from OpenSuSE :)

It does have Direct3D effects though.
And as far as I know, because of this, OpenGL is actually wrapped around Direct3D in Vista.
