nowadays vietnam is great in the eyes of the tourist. but before, my family and I had to escape to Australia. As I go back to Vietnam every 3-4 years to visit my family and relatives, the poverty is still there and struggle is still there
@birththroughosiris I agree with you ...the poverty there is still just terrible. If tourist were to leave the main strips and venture off, they could see how much of a struggle life there can be. I'm glad you're still able to visit though!
to have stayed numerous times to Ho Chi Minh City (pha nghu Lao, District 7 and District 2), I find your beautiful video, thank you for these pictures remind me so much that I love this country. great trip in my mind, one day I go over there
I want to ex-pat to Vietnam but still not finding quality source of info re how difficult and expensive ordinary cost of living might be overall. I'm glad you had such a wonderful time - not too surprising for a young lady that's cuter 'n a bug's ear, so btw, if you ever stop gallavanting around, please consider bearing my children yo? :)
love the video! love how you used "Hello Vietnam" for song in the beginning. I've been to vietnam every year since i was born, I couldn't go this year because of camp, and after watching your video, i'm hoping my mom let us go back again next summer.
@crazygirlforever20 Thanks so much for your comment! The 'Hello Vietnam' song is so beautiful! I hope you can go back there and visit in the future ...I wish the same for myself!
@washingmachinejordan I think you meant "An di con" im fluent speakin it but not spellin it and the accents are missing lol but yea i lived in Long Khanh outside of saigon for the past year im comin back to the states soon cant wait.
Hope you all are having a blast while teaching English to the Vietnamese kids. And while you are at it, please also teach them a few things about personal hygiene, and keeping their streets and community free of litter. I'm sure the people are nice, but they got to practice clean and healthy living in order to attract more tourists.
I'm curious, to teach in Vietnam did you have to know Vietnamese? Or were the classes in English because I am guessing you went there to teach English.
@antartica4321 Yes, I taught English in Vietnam. I didn't know one word in Vietnamese the day I moved there, but I learned the essentials when I got there. I taught at the University and all my students spoke English, but I had to speak really slowly so they were able to understand everything I said. The program I went through was Teachers for Vietnam ..you should check them out! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hey there, awesome vid! what part of VN did you stay in mostly? I was thinking about moving there, but wanted to know if there is enough work. I was also interested in teaching english? Any ideas? i prefer to live off the beaten path and out of the big big cities, but let me know! Thank you!
@kentweiluu Thank you for your kind words! I lived in Can Tho, which is about 3-4 hours south of Saigon. There's PLENTY of teaching opportunities in Vietnam. I did volunteer work, but there are paying opportunities that pay well if you manage to find a good private school. My favorite city in Vietnam was Hanoi so maybe you can check that area out as well? Best of luck!!
@turool1 Are you going for just a few days? I believe you could rent a motorbike for no more than $10 a day. If you're staying longer, I'm not sure. My housemate rented a motorbike from one of our Vietnamese friends for $200 for 6 months. Hope this helps!
Omg i love Vietnam. I was planning on something similar going back to Vietnam for 6months and adventure it sure its a beautiful country. The style and culture of the Vientamese people they are all very generous. I love Vietnam!
