Got two advices:

1. Try to play it on the guitar, if you have heard Chris' guitar version. It's golden!

2. Perhaps speed up the song just a little bit.

@Hubieee I commented before realy listning to the lyrics. Anyway, you have one theory, but maybe the song has a hidden meaning. Some sentences like "I cannot swallow such a bitter pill"(bitter pill:getting merried) and "You keep on moving, but i stay still"(he is waiting for his bride) indicate that they are getting merried, altough he isnt really thrilled either. The only thing stanidng against that theory is: "I lost the only thing I ever loved", but he could be speaking about lost "freedom"
