Well its funny to read "outdated recording techniques".... Jerry Boys is one of the most talented recording engineers. The three dimensional space is a combination of the talented musicians, Egrem recording room. Ry Cooder is certainly a good musician and helped the musicians with arrangements and gluing the entire record. This is not about Ry Cooder, this is the heritage of a bunch of cuban/african musicians that spend most of their lifes trying to survive in Cuba. Ry´s friend,
Enjoyed this interview. I 'discovered' Ry on Long Black Veil (Coast of Malabar) and kept buying records trying to reach that peak again -- never did -- but he took me on some great musical journeys like Slide Area and BVSC.
Thx Ry for showing the world what Cuba has to offer.
