Maybe so, but right now he's runnig pretty good. he was banged up at the beginning of the season, now he's all right and I saw a run Friday night that was incredible. Also, he has two pretty good running backs so that makes his need to run a lot less.
on his scouting report for the carthage game (i'm a carthage hs student) it was supposed to say good arm, but there was a typo and it said GOD arm lol we all thought that was pretty funny.
I think Webb would do much better with Drake at QB and Kyle as RB, or even, maybe, a WR. Kyle is a good QB, but if you can put him out in the field with another solid QB to give it/throw it to him, then this O will be hard to stop. Drake can run too and seems to be very smart. How's the D lookin?
that is exactly what I've been saying. Mack can do so much and he's so fast and hard to bring down. The d will be the area to test. The font line will be huge and mean. Linebackers and d-backs will be young and inexperienced, but at webb smith will have them ready and we have always let you throw the ball until you get in the red zone where the field immediately becomes short and you have to run and teams just can't do it.
Last year during the jamboree, I was a little worried about the D but then they come out and put a 0 against Kickapoo. Smith knows what he's doing. We need to get some linebackers like Ebbs, head hunters. Is Boo comin back as FS?
Oh, yeah. I'm not so sure that John puts as much stock in the Jamboree as we who watch and play put into it. Of course the other schools are always going to be headhunting for Webb - I remember CJ about 5 years ago claimed that they beat us in the Jamboree. The d will be ready no doubt.
What is the first song thats playing on his long carthage touchdown? i hear it at all the games and a few times in the weight room but i dont know what the name is
Oh, they are working hard. But as I have said before, they may not always go with Mack at qb. He is an explosive runner, so with Drake under center, the option becomes more of a threat and the option for him to pass to Boo Rodgers is a big time threat, along with having Baker in the backfield. If they line can give that 1 second hole, they are both through it and there aren't a lot of little safeties want either Mack or Baker lowering the shoulder on them.
That's exactly what I say. Just think, Drake under center, Mac in the slot, Bo wide out, Braxton Baker at running back, you also have Seth H. that was a qb until last year, you can throw from three different positions, run from all of them and catch from four of them. How do you defend all that for four quarters?
Our offense should be fine. Can't wait for the season to start. Looking forward to a long drive to Harrisonville week 1 - should be a dandy of a game.
Well, Webb City seems to do a pretty good job when their QB's are seniors - Brayden Drake with Clayton in '04; Collin Howard and Hannibal in '06, and now Kyle and the boys in '08. Should be a good year...
oh i most defintely do not doubt one bit he got the job done..He did a littel more then just get it done..He is one of the best athletes in his grade. Webb will go deep this season if he is healthy
Oh, I agree, he does throw funny. yes, his health will mean a lot, but he'll have a couple of good running backs behind him again and a great front line that will move over on D and be a menace.
He can only get better. I love to watch him run because unlike most qb's he loves to hit people. I hope he gets some defense in this year. I also would like to see the coach use him as a wide out and let our other qb throw the ball, that would make the offense very dangerous.
I agree. The kid's got a lot of linebacker mean in him. I'd like to see him play some linebacker this year. He really adds punch and speed to that secondary.

His arm was hurt that night. He threw well, but had a lot of pain. That's all taken care of now.

Between Drake and Roderique, we should be fine at QB if that's the case.

yes but he is questionable of being a qb next season because of his recent shoulder surgery

I don't think so, he is starting to throw the baseball pretty good. I'm sure that they'll have him ready to throw.

"Throws like a woman" but he got the job done. I've seen some athletes w/ pretty bad form do a terrific job. Let's see how things go this year.
