The V69 works fine with Electric guitars, however my own personal favorite for recording electric guitar is the MXL R144 ribbon mic. At $100 it performs superbly and really captures the character of most guitar/amp combinations.
I have been using a low end mxl condensor for over 3 years and from the durability that budget mic gave me I am now buying this microphone cuz it looks sexy for my vocals to be laid on
The main difference is that the XM is transformer coupled. It does not have the upper midrange bump the Mogami edition has, so has a different tonal quality.
I just bought this mic today and so far it sounds awesome, tested on vocals only so far. Enough sensitivity to drive my Presonus Firebox preamps, which only have +35db gain.
Both the sensitivity and overall sound quality are excellent, clear rich, warm sound. Low noise for the signal strength.
Overall, perfect mic for those wanting high end tube condenser mic sound for a rock bottom price-- $300. And an especially perfect for those with low gain mic preamps.
Is this good for hip hop/rap...i'm thinking on getting a mic from you guys wich one do you sugest? I'm thinking on this one...

I would have to say the Sure sm57. It is a true work horse, not to mention it does not break the bank.

I am glad you like the Mic. Keep your eyes (and ears) open for more great additions to the MXL range.

Yes the vocals on this were recorded with the V69. The singer was in fact using it hand held.
