  • Holy shit, relistening to this again makes so much sense and sounds so much more understandable after all of the stuff that happened in 2011 for nintendo.

    Godspeed, Iwata.

  • @snafusaurus *that embarrassing moment when you realize that laughing at a fact doesn't make it any less true*

  • Unfortunately, generic mass production is just one of the byproducts of a medium's evolution, but that doesn't mean quality will just vanish. We may have cheap paperback novels, but we also have Stephen King and Anne Rice. We may have Justin Bieber and Nickelback, but we also have Josh Groban and Within Temptation. We may have Katherine Heigl films, but we also have The Dark Knight and Black Swan. Amidst the mass produced crap, there will always be quality, worthwhile works to be found.

  • Nintendo shall forever live!!!!!

  • Iwata knows a lot about the gaming industry .. nice advice man ! .

  • This man is as powerful and honorable as a good emperor in my opinion. Nintendo's in excellent hands.

  • no DISLIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • that "craftmanship" subject....i definately have to agree with

i see many awesome looking games, but it's sad that still to this day i can say that some of the new games have still crappier controlls/polish than what the 8-bit systems had....

it's like we're heading again to interactive movies

little things are those what counts and not the "lolomgwthmeng*trollface*"graphics/epic music/meaningless trailer[which sometimes can even summarize the entire game....]

  • @RNorthex I agree with that, dude.

  • this is like Iwata's magnum opus

  • I agree with him. People see cheap games, buy it, master it in a few minutes, and repeat until their $40 game budget is blown in a few days. I'd rather get one game that blows that budget, but keeps me entertained until AFTER my budget is restored. If we blow everything on the cheap stuff, the people actually making nice games don't have as much to spend on the work that is needed to keep making quality games. Then the average game quality becomes a video-gaming titanic.

  • Iwata keeps saying "high value" but what he really means is HIGH PRICE. the old guard of game makers desperately want you to forget that...

    Value = Quality / Price.

If two games are of the same quality but one is 500% (or 5000%!) of the other's price, then the VALUE of the expensive game is far less.

Nintendo should have studied their own history, starting with the video game crash of the early 1980s. They should have heeded the warning voices that they drove out of their own company.

  • Satoru Iwata ftw. Nintendo FTW!

  • Remember I was here.Thai

  • when nintendo talks you listen!

  • APPLE GAMING IS A JOKE! always has been always will be.... If the market just wants to go by hom many retards download some app rather that REAL games then the game industry deserves to die

  • Fuck yeah! That's all I can say!

  • Wow! Nintendo has been serving up those A@@ for decades now. Came at one time atari, turbo graphix, Sega, commodore, intellevision, now Sony and Microsoft my goodness. We love you Iwata and NINTENDO.

  • Everyone else can eat their hearts out, it's Nintendo.

  • Obviously Nintendo will knock the iPhone since they're now competing with it, but I can count more good iPhone games than good Wii games, and they add up to less cost than one Wii game

  • @philpee2 But Iphone isnt really a games console nor is an ipod touch, if we compete with anything it needs to be with the Ipad i think thats apples real console on the market

  • Apple is the enemy of the future...of videogames.

  • Go on Iwata San !!!!

  • Angry Birds... WHATEVER!

  • "For 25 years game developer have made the impossible possible....... Why would we stop now" Truer words have never been spoken.

  • He bows so humbly but then walks off with so much style

  • Thankyou for uploading this, I wish conferences like these were more easily accessible.

  • Watch out, apple X)
